A rare case of Guillain-Barré syndrome associated with herpes zoster developed on the 7th day of eruption in the right dermatoma DII-III in a man of 51 years old. The peculiarities of the symptoms, current status, liquor changes have been analysed basing on the data from foreign literature on 24 cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome (polyradiculoneuritis) associated with herpes zoster.

We report on a 45-year-old male patient with a 15-years history of partly excoriated and inflamed lesions of verruccous-papular character, arranged in a linear naevoid fashion on the extensor side of the right arm and shoulder. The lesions were not related to a dermatoma but seemed to be located in the Blaschko's lines. On histology an epidermal invagination was found, conspicuously arranged over proliferating vellus hair follicles, which were increased in number as in a hamartoma. The rete ridges were directed towards early anagens of the vellus hairs with consecutive crateriform invagination of the epidermis with parakeratosis and basophilic debris on the innermost layer of the invagination...

The indication and surgical procedure of mesh skin grafting with mesh graft dermatoma II after Tanner-Vanderput concerning avoidable failures are shown. In order to avoid therapeutic complications of skin grafting in extremities it is of great importance to have a well granulating transplantation ground and to spread out the mesh graft equally. Even in regions of joints good results can be achieved.

The frequency of the occurrence of predominantly benevolent dermatomas in a medium-sized general practice is reported; whereby mainly warts (verrucae vulgares) are dealt with. The treatment of these types of dermatomas by means of cryosurgery is presented, the results are evaluated and the procedure--suitable for a general practice--is described.

This study proved the existence of lateral differences in thermographic recordings of the legs of 83 out of a total of 84 patients with the clinical diagnosis "lumbar disk herniation". In 68.5 per cent only of 71 patients with unilateral symptoms, however, the hypothermic areas occurred in the symptomatic leg. These areas could not be matched with corresponding dermatomas. As regards determination of the level of the herniation, thermography is an unreliable method for differentiation between the different segments, because the site of the dermatoma cannot be identified in relation to the site of the herniation...

We report a case of acute spinal epidural hematoma diagnosed by MRI-CT. A 76-year-old woman was admitted in our hospital for the purpose of the gastrectomy against her early cancer of stomach. Thoracic epidural anesthesia (Th8/9) was attempted for the operation and soft tube was continuously remained in the epidural space after successful gastrectomy. On the second day after operation, the tube was pulled out from the epidural space safely. However, the patient complained severe thoracic-back pain and complete paraplegia of legs with sensory loss beneath Th10 level of dermatoma...

The incidence, diagnosis and clinical picture of the orbital tumors in children are discussed on the basis of 49 personal cases. Discovered was the preponderance of primary non-malignant tumors. The most frequently encountered tumors were angiomas (27 p.c.), dermatomas (19 p.c.) lymphomas (8 p.c.) and among the malignant tumors--rhabdomyosarcoma (6 p.c.).

The diagnosis of spinal stenosis can be strongly suspected when the following symptoms are present: limbs neuralgias with a poorly defined location, paresthesias in several dermatomas neurogenic intermittent claudication. Myelography coupled with scan yields the best information about morphology, levels of stenosis and narrowing factors, bone bridges ligaments and discal structures. If surgery is decided after failure of medical treatment to improve the patient's condition, the choice will be best guided by the myeloscan analysis...

The research realised at INSERM, Unité 103, on the acupuncture analgesia in animal has brought to light certain phenomenon concerning physical, histological and physiological facts. The acupuncture point is a point having the least electrical resistance in relation to the surrounding teguments. The analgesia points studied has an even lower resistance than the other points of the same dermatoma. This is not bound to the phenomenon of surface, as it is also found in cadaver after having cleared the skin with alcohol, ether or acetone...
