The highly diastereoselective zinco-cyclopropanation of chiral allylic alcohols using gem-dizinc carbenoids is described. A long-term uptake of a diet supplemented with Mirtilene Forte (Vaccinum myrtillus extract) or Adrusen Zinco (a vitamin E complex with zinc, copper, selenium and omega-3 polyunsturated fatty acid) improved the functional state of liver mitochondria in OXYS rat strain.
