BACKGROUND: Acute respiratory distress syndrome is a rare complication during pregnancy but remains dificult to manage, with a high incidence of maternal mortality. CASES: We present 3 cases of respiratory failure and severe pulmonary disease managed with airway pressure release ventilation, among other ventilatory modes, with improved ventilation.
