OBJECTIVE: Patients with a history of severe obstetric complications in the presence of elevated phospholipid antibodies are at high risk for recurrent obstetric debacle. We report a successful immunologic treatment for prevention of HELLP-Syndrome in subsequent pregnancy in a patient with elevated Phospholipid antibodies, while under rheological and hemostaseological monitoring. Mucosally induced tolerance is an attractive strategy for preventing or reducing autoimmune diseases. Here, we produced a recombinant CTB fusion protein linked with autoantigen T cell epitope of insulin B chain peptide 9-23 (C19S) at levels up to 200 mg/L culture media in Brevibacillus choshinensis secretion-expression system. Receptor-competitive assay showed that the CTB-insulin peptide binds to GM1 receptor almost equivalent degree as the native form of CTB. The polyamines putrescine, cadaverine, spermidine, spermine, and the amine histamine in whole blood and plasma of 42 patients with malignant melanoma were analysed after cold acid extraction and ion-exchange chromatography by fluorescence detection. Depending on the degree of tumor spreading the patients were grouped into 5 subpopulations; results were statistically compared with the values obtained from a normal population. In vivo employment of monoclonal antibodies of murine origin (MoAb) with the object of immunotherapy or immunoscintigraphy may result in formation of human antimouse antibodies (HAMA) in a number of the persons exposed. HAMA is of IgG and also IgM types. Allergic reactions may occur but only few are of serious nature (less than 0.3 per thousand).
