Impostor phenomenon (IP) is described as a pattern typified by doubting one's accomplishments and a persistent fear of being exposed as a fraud. Physician trainees receive anonymous written feedback about their clinical performance, which can be challenging to interpret. Negative written feedback can evoke a strong emotional response.
