BACKGROUND: Previous research has largely lacked studies that explore the trajectories of Posttraumatic stress symptoms (PTSS) and the structure of comorbid psychiatric symptom networks following traumatic event, while controlling for the severity of traumatic exposure. The present study aims to explore the characteristic trajectories of PTSS, in the context of ensuring controlled levels of traumatic exposure. Furthermore, the PTSS, depressive, and anxiety comorbid symptom networks of different PTSS trajectory subgroups are also investigated...

OBJECTIVE: Family violence can negatively affect youth's psychosocial functioning. Strengths-based interventions may enhance positive youth functioning among youth experiencing adversity, but little is known about the effectiveness of camp-based interventions for youth exposed to family violence. The current study examined the effectiveness of Camp HOPE Tennessee in promoting multidimensional well-being and school engagement among youth exposed to family violence. METHOD: This pilot study employed a nonmasked, parallel randomized controlled design...

INTRODUCTION: Early childhood educators (ECEs) play a critical role in supporting the development of young children's executive functions (EF). EF, in turn, underpins lifelong resilience and well-being. Unfortunately, many ECEs report adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) that may compound high stress levels associated with an emotionally and physically demanding profession. ACEs have well-established negative implications for adult well-being and may dampen ECEs' capacities to engage in emotionally responsive interactions with children...

OBJECTIVE: For young adults (YAs) with cancer, connecting with peer cancer survivors can provide a unique sense of community and may enhance post-traumatic growth (PTG). This study examined the relationship between connectedness to the YA cancer community and PTG among YAs, independent of overall social support. METHODS: Data were obtained from the young adults with cancer in their prime study, a cross-Canada survey of YA cancer survivors. Participants were stratified by level of social support into two groups (low/high)...

BACKGROUND: Recent research identified that cancer bereavement can lead to post-traumatic growth (PTG). Although PTG and its correlates are well explored in cancer patients and survivors, persons bereaved from cancer have received scant attention. Therefore, the present review attempts to identify the correlates of PTG among persons bereaved from cancer. METHODS: A systematic search in PubMed, Web of Science, APA PsycNet, Science Direct, Scopus, and Wiley was conducted to identify quantitative studies published in English, resulting in 12 eligible reports being included in the final analysis...

Sphingosine-1-Phosphate (S1P) plays multiple roles in bone metabolism and regeneration. Here, we have identified a novel S1P-regulated osteoanabolic mechanism functionally connecting osteoblasts to the highly specialized bone vasculature. We demonstrate that S1P/S1PR3 signaling in osteoblasts stimulates vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGFa) expression and secretion to promote bone growth in an autocrine and boost osteogenic H-type differentiation of bone marrow endothelial cells in a paracrine manner. VEGFa-neutralizing antibodies and VEGF-Receptor inhibition by Axitinib abrogated osteoblast growth in vitro and bone formation in male C57BL/6 J in vivo following S1P stimulation and S1P lyase inhibition, respectively...
