Fluorescent chemosensors offer a direct means of measuring enzyme activity for cancer diagnosis, predicting drug resistance, and aiding in the discovery of new anticancer drugs. O6 -methylguanine DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) is a predictor of resistance towards anticancer alkylating agents such as temozolomide. Using the fluorescent molecular rotor, 9-(2-carboxy-2-cyanovinyl)julolidine (CCVJ), we synthesized, and evaluated a MGMT fluorescent chemosensor derived from a chloromethyl-triazole covalent inhibitor, AA-CW236, a non-pseudosubstrate of MGMT...

The chlorine evolution reaction (CER) is essential for industrial Cl2 production but strongly relies on the use of dimensionally stable anode (DSA) with high-amount precious Ru/Ir oxide on a Ti substrate. For the purpose of sustainable development, precious metal decrement and performance improvement are highly desirable for the development of CER anodes. Herein, we demonstrate that surface titanium oxide amorphization is crucial to regulate the coordination environment of stabilized Ir single atoms for efficient and durable chlorine evolution of Ti monolithic anodes...

This paper explores the connection between the H3 BO3 flux concentration and the co-existence of Eu2+ and Eu3+ dopants within CaMgSi2 O6 crystals (diopside). The samples were synthesised using a solid-state synthesis method under varying atmospheric conditions, including oxidative (air), neutral (N2 ), and reductive (H2 /N2 mixture) environments. Additionally, some materials underwent chemical modification by partially substituting Si4+ with Al3+ ions acting as charge compensation defects stabilizing Eu3+ luminescence...

Titanium-oxo cluster (TOC)-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have received considerable attention in recent years due to their ability to expand the application of TOCs to fields that require highly stable frameworks. Herein, a new cyclic TOC formulated as [Ti6 O6 (O i Pr)8 (TTFTC)(phen)2 ]2 ( 1 , where TTFTC = tetrathiafulvalene tetracarboxylate and phen = phenanthroline) was crystallographically characterized. TOC 1 takes a rectangular ring structure with two phen-modified Ti6 clusters as the width and two TTFTC ligands as the length...

The efficacy of temozolomide (TMZ) treatment in glioblastoma (GBM) is influenced by various mechanisms, mainly including the level of O6 -methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) and the activity of DNA damage repair (DDR) pathways. In our previous study, we had proved that long non-coding RNA HOTAIR regulated the GBM progression and mediated DDR by interacting with EZH2, the catalytic subunit of PRC2. In this study, we developed a small-molecule inhibitor called EPIC-0628 that selectively disrupted the HOTAIR-EZH2 interaction and promoted ATF3 expression...

We have used high-pressure synthesis to synthesize samples of Ca2- x Mn x Ti2 O6 double perovskite, where x varies between 0.2 and 1. The synthesized materials were structurally characterized with powder X-ray diffraction (XRD). Rietveld refinement of the XRD patterns was used to study the change from CaTiO3 ( x = 0) to the composition CaMnTi2 O6 ( x = 1) where half of the Ca(II) ions are replaced by smaller Mn(II) ions. We analyzed the peak shapes in the XRD patterns, as well as lattice parameters, and it appears that smooth symmetry change from the centrosymmetric space group Pbnm to the non-centrosymmetric space group P 42 mc occurs between x = 0...

The bad metallic phase with resistivity above the Mott-Ioffe-Regel (MIR) limit, which appears also in cuprate superconductors, was recently understood by cold atom and computer simulations of the Hubbard model via charge susceptibility and charge diffusion constant. However, since reliable simulations can be typically done only at temperatures above the experimental temperatures, the question for cuprate superconductors is still open. This paper addresses this question by resorting to heat transport, which allows for the estimate of electronic diffusion and it further combines it with the resistivity to estimate the charge susceptibility...

In order to alleviate the continuous phase transition and K+ re-embedding from Jahn-Teller distortion, the [Mn-Co-Mo]O6 octahedra are introduced into P3-K0.45 MnO2 herein to optimize the local electron structure. Based on the experimental and computational results, the octahedral center metal molybdenum in [MoO6 ] octahedra proposes a smaller ionic radius and higher oxidation state to induce second-order JTE (pseudo-JTE) distortion in the adjacent [MnO6 ] octahedra...

O6 -Methylguanine-DNA-methyltransferase (MGMT) is a demethylation protein that dynamically regulates the O6 -methylguanine modification (O6 MeG), and dysregulated MGMT is implicated in various malignant tumors. Herein, we integrate demethylation-activated DNAzyme with a single quantum dot nanosensor to sensitively detect MGMT in breast tissues. The presence of MGMT induces the demethylation of the O6 MeG-caged DNAzyme and the restoration of catalytic activity. The activated DNAzyme then specifically cleaves the ribonucleic acid site of hairpin DNA to expose toehold sequences...
