Efficient steel fiber-reinforced cementitious composites (SFRCC) should improve not only the ultimate tensile strength but also the residual tensile strength (post-cracking tensile strength) of the SFRCC matrix. The degradation of the post-cracking tensile strength of SFRCC depends on the pullout properties of the steel fibers from the cementitious matrix. When the straight steel fiber was pulled out from the matrix, the pullout resistance was affected by the actions of bonding and friction. After debonding, the load was transferred only by friction, and the pullout resistance decreased rapidly, resulting in a weak reinforcing effect...

INTRODUCTION: Different materials and restorative concepts have been proposed over the years to restore endodontically treated teeth (ETT). Monolithic ceramic and composite restoration can be lute to the tooh, without the use of a post. However, little is known how the material stiffness and presence of a composite core will affect the survival and failure mode. The objective of this in-vitro study was to evaluate the fracture strength and failure mode of endodontically treated molars, restored with ceramic or hybrid composite monolithic restoration, in the presence of absence of a composite core...

METHODS: A control (Group A), monomer mixture comprising 60% Bis-GMA, 30% TEGDMA, and 10% PMMA (typical FRC monomers) was used. The following monomer mass fractions were mixed: 50% bis-GMA plus 50% of different ratios of Bis-EMA+UDMA to produce consistent formulations (Groups B-E) of workable viscosities was also studied...

In the last two decades, the demand for ceramic indirect restorations in everyday dental practice has considerably increased primarily due to the growing significance of esthetics among patients, but also as a result of hypersensitivity reactions to dental alloys in some individuals...

BACKGROUND: Evaluating the level of dental students' competence is crucial for validating their preparedness for graduation. Confidence has a significant role in achieving competence. There are limited studies that assess the level of self-perceived confidence among final-year dental students regarding their ability to conduct key dental procedures. This study aims to assess the self-perceived confidence level of final-year dental students in performing essential dental procedures across various dental disciplines and to assess the effect of implementing competencies in the curriculum on the self-perceived confidence level of students by comparing two cohorts of final-year students in two different years 2016 (Traditional Cohort) and 2019 (Competencies Cohort)...
