Pyelonephritis is one of the main systemic bacterial infections encountered in emergency departments. We present a case of diabetes woman aged 30 years referred to our urology department of El-Idrissi Hospital, Kenitra (Morocco) for recurrent episodes of urinary tract infection, multiple urolithiasis, chills, unilateral lower back pain, chills and severe hydroureteronephrosis. Abdominal CT showed a non-functioning obstructed kidney with pyelic and ureteral stones. Nephroureterectomy was performed by extraperitoneal nephrectomy for avoiding any more extended nephrectomy incision or second iliac incision, this technic ensures nephroureterectomy with minimal risk of affecting the distal ureter, that sometimes follows nephrectomy...

Small-cell carcinoma of the bladder (SCCB) is an uncommon and aggressive malignancy of the urinary tract. Its clinical presentation often mimics that of other bladder neoplasms, posing a diagnostic challenge. This case report presents a rare instance of SCCB in a 65-year-old female, shedding light on the diagnostic journey and emphasizing the need for heightened and prompt clinical suspicion due to its aggressive nature. The patient presented to the urological department with hematuria, dysuria, and hypogastric pain...

BACKGROUND: Recent years have seen a considerable shift from male doctors to female doctors in the field of gynecology. Female doctors are traditionally more involved with planning and maintaining their family. For gynecology, this could be associated with a risk that research activities will decrease, particularly if results are published in scientific journals. METHODS: In view of this shift, a comparative observational study was carried for 2022 in which 1306 publications were matched to 1786 female and male doctors reported on the websites of the 44 locations of university gynecology departments in Germany...

Introduction : Etiopathogenesis and the symptomatology of ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) in the pediatric population has not yet been definitely clarified, suggesting a multifactorial nature of the condition. The aim was to analyze the association between the number of Interstitial Cells of Cajal (ICCs), as well as P2 X3 receptors in ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) and the pain response in pediatric patients with hydronephrosis. Methods: 50 patients with congenital hydronephrosis underwent open or laparoscopic pyeloplasty at one of two departments of pediatric surgery and urology in Poland...
