Introduction: Hereditary orotic aciduria is an extremely rare, autosomal recessive disease caused by deficiency of uridine monophosphate synthase. Untreated, affected individuals may develop refractory megaloblastic anemia, neurodevelopmental disabilities, and crystalluria.
