In this study, activated carbon-organic polymer (AC-polymer) extraction columns were prepared via microwave-assisted polymerization. The AC-polymer was applied in polymer monolith microextraction (PMME) of phenolic acids (PAs) in food samples. Structural characterization using Raman and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy revealed the successful incorporation of AC into polymer monolith. OBJECTIVE: The Affordable Care Act (ACA) established the Hospital-Acquired Condition (HAC) Reduction Program. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) established a total HAC scoring methodology to rank hospitals based upon their HAC performance. Hospitals that rank in the lowest quartile based on their HAC score are subject to a 1% reduction in their total Medicare reimbursements. Sugar-free cranberry juice (XAD) and juice with 15% of maltodextrin were dried by freeze-, vacuum and spray drying methods. Total phenolics (589-6435mg/kg dry matter) including 5 flavonols, 3 phenolic acids, 2 procyanidins and 5 anthocyanins were stronger affected by juice formulation than by drying methods.
