AsqJ, an iron(II) and 2-oxoglutarate dependent enzyme found in viridicatin-type alkaloid biosynthetic pathways, catalyzes sequential desaturation and epoxidation to produce cyclopenins. Herein, the crystal structures of AsqJ bound to cyclopeptin and its C3-epimer are reported.
