EGFR and VEGFR-2 are involved in pathological disorders and the progression of different kinds of tumors, the combined blockade of EGFR and VEGFR signaling pathways appears to be an attractive approach to cancer therapy. In this work, a series of 4-anilinoquinazoline derivatives containing substituted diaryl urea or glycine methyl ester moiety were designed and identified as EGFR and VEGFR-2 dual inhibitors. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is notoriously refractory to chemotherapy because of its tendency to develop multi-drug resistance (MDR), whose various underlying mechanisms make it difficult to target. The calcium signalling pathway is associated with many cellular biological activities, and is also a critical player in cancer. However, its role in modulating tumour MDR remains unclear. A Ni-catalyzed Markovnikov hydroalkylation of alkynes with alkyl halides is described. The reaction proceeds smoothly without the use of sensitive organometallic reagents and shows good functional-group compatibility, enabling the efficient synthesis of a variety of 1,1-disubstituted olefins. It also provides a straightforward approach for the modification of complex organic molecules.

Herein, we describe a novel copper-catalyzed epoxide opening reaction with gem-diborylmethane. Aliphatic, aromatic epoxides as well as aziridines are converted to the corresponding γ-pinacolboronate alcohols or amines in moderate to excellent yields. This new reaction provides beneficial applications for classic epoxide substrates as well as interesting gem-diborylalkane reagents.

Here, we examined the expression, biological function, and clinical significance of tripartite motif containing 28 (TRIM28) in glioma, a locally aggressive brain tumor. Introducing adaptive coupling in delayed neuronal networks and regulating the dissipative parameter (DP) of adaptive coupling by noise, we study the effect of fluctuations of the changing rate of adaptive coupling on the synchronization of the neuronal networks. Sumoylation regulates many cellular processes, but its role in signaling via the T cell antigen receptor (TCR) remains unknown. We found that the kinase PKC-θ was sumoylated upon costimulation with antigen or via the TCR plus the coreceptor CD28, with Lys325 and Lys506 being the main sumoylation sites. We identified the SUMO E3 ligase PIASxβ as a ligase for PKC-θ. Analysis of primary mouse and human T cells revealed that sumoylation of PKC-θ was essential for T cell activation. The formation of dynamic patterns such as localized propagating waves is a fascinating self-organizing phenomenon that happens in a wide range of spatially extended systems including neural systems, in which they might play important functional roles. We report an observation of the process J/ψ→γX(1835)→γK_{S}^{0}K_{S}^{0}η at low K_{S}^{0}K_{S}^{0} mass with a statistical significance larger than 12.9σ using a data sample of 1.31×10^{9} J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector. In this region of phase space the K_{S}^{0}K_{S}^{0} system is dominantly produced through the f_{0}(980). By performing a partial wave analysis, we determine the spin parity of the X(1835) to be J^{PC}=0^{-+}. The mass and width of the observed X(1835) are 1844±9(stat)_{-25}^{+16}(syst)  MeV/c^{2} and 192_{-17}^{+20}(stat)_{-43}^{+62}(syst)  MeV, respectively, which are consistent with the results obtained by BESIII in the channel J/ψ→γπ^{+}π^{-}η^{'}...
