rGO-MoSe2 nanocomposites were prepared via a one-pot hydrothermal method in which MoSe2 microspheres (MS) were decorated on rGO sheets. Three nanocomposites named F1, F2, and F3 were prepared using different weight ratios of MoSe2 MS to rGO: (3 : 1), (4 : 1), and (5 : 1), respectively. FESEM images showed a flower-like porous morphology of the MoSe2 microspheres. All the rGO-MoSe2 nanocomposites exhibited remarkable microwave absorption properties as demonstrated by strong reflection loss (-58 dB to -99 dB) and an ultrabroad effective absorption bandwidth (equivalent to 90% attenuation), which covers whole X and Ku frequency bands at matching thicknesses of 2...

This study successfully utilized a straightforward approach, choosing liquid-liquid phase separation to build a porous structure and synthesize composite absorbers based on polyimide-based porous carbon and cobalt nanoparticles (designated as PPC/Co-700 and PPC/Co-800). A fine porous structure was achieved as a result of the excellent heat resistance of polyimide resulting in an excellent electromagnetic wave absorption ability of PPC/Co composites. The results obtained clearly indicated that PPC/Co-700 and PPC/Co-800 exhibit a porous structure with coral-like pores, enhancing both impedance matching properties and microwave attenuation abilities...

Nitrogen-doped carbon dots (NCD) with high fluorescence retention and good stability were successfully fabricated using citric acid and urea via a facile and eco-friendly one-step microwave method, which exhibited superior specificity for detection of nitrofurantoin (NFT). Upon the addition of NFT, the fluorescence intensity of NCD at 450 nm was significantly decreased. Besides, a satisfactory linear relationship between the fluorescence quenching efficiency and concentrations of NFT was obtained. Especially, NCD was qualitatively and quantitatively applied for detection NFT in milk and meat extract samples with a high recovery rate...

Synthesizing tetrahydrocannabinol is a lengthy process with minimal yields and little applicability on an industrial scale. To close the gap between bench chemistry and industry process chemistry, this paper introduces a small-scale flow chemistry method that utilizes a microwave or ultrasonic medium to produce major tetrahydrocannabinol isomers. This process produces excellent yields and minimal side products, which leads to more efficient large-scale production of the desired cannabinoids.

Herein, microwave-assisted activated carbon (MW-AC) was fabricated from peanut shells using a ZnCl2 activator and utilized for the first time to eliminate benzene vapor as a volatile organic compound (VOC). During the MW-AC production process, which involved two steps-microwave treatment and muffle furnace heating-we investigated the effects of various factors and achieved the highest iodine number of 1250 mg/g. This was achieved under optimal operating conditions, which included a 100% impregnation ratio, CO2 as the gas in the microwave environment, a microwave power set at 500 W, a microwave duration of 10 min, an activation temperature of 500 °C and an activation time of 45 min...

Spent bleaching clay, a solid waste generated during the refining process of vegetable oils, lacks an efficient treatment solution. In this study, spent bleaching clay was innovatively employed to fabricate ceramic foams. The thermal stability analysis, microstructure, and crystal phase composition of the ceramic foams were characterized by TG-DSC, SEM, and XRD. An investigation into the influence of Al2 O3 content on the ceramic foams was conducted. Results showed that, as the Al2 O3 content increased from 15 wt% to 30 wt%, there was a noticeable decrease in bulk density and linear shrinkage, accompanied by an increase in compressive strength...

The diffusion model is used to calculate both the time-averaged flow of particles in stochastic media and the propagation of waves averaged over ensembles of disordered static configurations. For classical waves exciting static disordered samples, such as a layer of paint or a tissue sample, the flux transmitted through the sample may be dramatically enhanced or suppressed relative to predictions of diffusion theory when the sample is excited by a waveform corresponding to a transmission eigenchannel. Even so, it is widely assumed that the velocity of waves is irretrievably randomized in scattering media...

Glucagonomas are rare neuroendocrine neoplasms of the pancreas with malignant potential. At present, their epidemiology is not entirely clear, so clinicians are not well versed, lacking any consensus on diagnosis or comprehensive treatment. The present study reports the case of a 32-year-old woman hospitalized for recurrent glossitis, perioral dermatitis and necrolytic migratory erythema (NME) of both lower limbs. Imaging studies revealed a low-density nodule (~2 cm) in the tail of the pancreas, as well as multiple space-occupying hepatic lesions...
