The authors demonstrate an importance of personalized approach to perioperative hemostatic therapy in a 48-year-old patient with hemophilia A and inhibitory antibodies. Laparoscopic hernia repair and extraction of 15 decayed teeth were performed. Hemostatic therapy included AICC and rFVIIa. Postoperative period was complicated by acute thrombosis of splenic artery and partial spleen infarction. An essential factor in splenic artery thrombosis was increase in blood coagulation potential under rFVIIa administration and depletion of fibrinolytic system (prolongation of XIIa-dependent fibrinolysis from 25 to 75 min) and antithrombin III decrease up to 81%...

This review is devoted to the management of primary artery thrombosis (PAT). This disease was always considered only as a part of other venous thromboembolic events, in particular isolated pulmonary embolism (PE). Various studies show that PAT can develop as an independent event without concomitant damage to extra-vessels. PAT is characterized by own typical signs as primary and recurrent event that can determine special strategies of treatment. However, there are no studies devoted to this problem. We can only make some assumptions about PAT anticoagulation (AC) considering data on isolated PE comprising PAT...

COVID-19 emerged in Wuhan, China in late December 2019, and WHO declared it a pandemic on March 11, 2020. The disease has a wide spectrum ranging from asymptomatic or mild disease to ARDS and death. There have been over 83.9 million cases with 1.8 million deaths worldwide. COVIDassociated coagulopathy appears to be an entity responsible for deaths. Thromboprophylaxis is recommended in patients with COVID-19 to prevent arterial and venous thromboembolism. Low molecular weight heparin such as enoxaparin is often recommended...

BACKGROUND: Many works aimed to determine factors that influence the onset of postthrombotic syndrome after an acute episode of deep venous thrombosis. We aimed to compare the prognostic value of the most proximal extent of thrombus (proximal and distal DVT) versus the residual thrombosis as identified by venous ultrasonography performed during follow-up. METHOD: We conducted a retrospective study of prospectively collected 1183 consecutive cohort patients in the RIETE registry after a first episode of deep venous thrombosis and assessed for postthrombotic syndrome after 12 months...

A rather large number of different anatomic variants of intracranial dural venous sinuses are known, and they are found so often that interpreting them only as anomalies is unlikely, except for variations such as sinus aplasia or doubling, which can be attributed to anomalies of the venous system. Diameter reduction (hypoplasia) of the transverse and sigmoid sinuses is observed relatively often. In cases of dural sinuses anomalies, sinuses on the contralateral side are necessarily evaluated as the main source of compensation...

Hereditary thrombophilia is rare pathology giving rise to a ninefold increase in the risk for the development of thromboembolism in infants. The problem is multifactorial and characterized by high mortality, especially in neonates. Infants who develop thrombosis, particularly those with no family history, are often subjected to testing for hereditary thrombophilia. However, genetic testing for thrombophilia does not change the plan of treatment but makes it possible to perform prevention of thrombosis within the risk periods for the patient...

Demonstrated in the article are the results of catheter-directed thrombolysis in a male patient presenting with bilateral acute iliofemoral venous thrombosis on the background of aplasia of the inferior vena cava. The incidence rate of this pathology is specified, with an emphasis on no recommendations on choosing optimal therapeutic strategy in this cohort of patients. The main causes and complications of the disease are described. The realized policy of revascularization demonstrated its safety and efficacy...

OBJECTIVE: Thrombosis of a hemodialysis arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is a serious complication that needs urgent treatment. Most cases are treated surgically, but recently, endovascular strategies have become a viable alternative. This study is an evaluation of the success and patency rate of percutaneous balloon angioplasty of thrombosed hemodialysis fistulas using a drug-coated balloon (DCB) contrasted with a standard balloon (SB). METHODS: The data of 33 patients with a thrombosed native hemodialysis AVF treated percutaneously in a tertiary care center were analyzed retrospectively...
