INTRODUCTION: Nonprescription sildenafil was introduced to the United Kingdom in 2018 as the first pharmacy service concerning sexual function, an important but often ignored factor for quality of life. AIM: This study aimed to evaluate pharmacists' views on providing nonprescription sildenafil, their perceptions of the barriers and facilitators to provide this service and strategies to overcome potential barriers, using a theory-based approach. METHODS: Community pharmacists were purposefully sampled in Northern Ireland, followed by snowball sampling...

In the present study, the initial treatment efficiency of combination therapy using testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), herbal medicine and phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors (PDE5i) in male patients with late-onset hypogonadism (LOH) were assessed. A total of 21 patients were enrolled and after 12 weeks, the clinical efficacy was evaluated based on improvement of LOH symptoms via laboratory parameters and several questionnaires, including the Ageing Males' Symptoms (AMS) scale. The overall AMS scores, as well as the psychological, physical and sexual AMS factors prior to and after treatment in the TRT, testosterone enanthate (T enanthate) monotherapy and T enanthate + PDE5i treatment groups were significantly improved...

INTRODUCTION: Pelvic ring injuries, frequently caused by high energy trauma, are associated with high rates of morbidity and mortality (5-33%), often due to significant blood loss and disruption of the lumbosacral plexus, genitourinary system, and gastrointestinal system. The aim of the present study is to perform a systematic literature review on male and female sexual dysfunctions related to traumatic lesions of the pelvic ring. METHODS: Scopus, Cochrane Library MEDLINE via PubMed, and Embase were searched using the keywords: "Pelvic fracture," "Pelvic Ring Fracture," "Pelvic Ring Trauma," "Pelvic Ring injury," "Sexual dysfunction," "Erectile dysfunction," "dyspareunia," and their MeSH terms in any possible combination...

INTRODUCTION: Vascular erectile dysfunction (ED) is a burdensome condition, associated with increased cardiovascular risk. Peak systolic velocity (PSV) represents the maximum pulse velocity in the cavernous artery measured by a penile color doppler ultrasonography (PCDU) during a pharmacologically induced erection and is considered a reliable parameter for the diagnosis of vascular ED. However, the cut-off value of standard PSV (30 cm/s) provides high sensitivity only in the diagnosis of advanced arteriogenic disease...

: Infertility represents a growing health problem in industrialized countries. Thus, a greater understanding of the molecular networks involved in this disease could be critical for the development of new therapies. A recent finding revealed that circadian rhythmicity disruption is one of the main causes of poor reproductive outcome. The circadian clock system beats circadian rhythms and modulates several physiological functions such as the sleep-wake cycle, body temperature, heart rate, and hormones secretion, all of which enable the body to function in response to a 24 h cycle...

Elevated aortic blood pressure is more strongly related to the onset of cardiovascular disease (CVD) than elevated brachial blood pressure. On the other hand, erectile dysfunction (ED) is a peripheral vascular disfunction and is also associated with CVD; however, the association between aortic blood pressure and ED has not yet been clarified. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the association between ED severity and aortic blood pressure in adult men. In 253 Japanese adult men (59 ± 16 years), aortic (estimated using a generalized transfer function) and peripheral hemodynamics were measured...

OBJECTIVE: After an obstetric trauma, a non-negligible number of postpartum women complain of perineal pain and dyspareunia. These symptoms clearly diminish their quality of life. Many treatment options have been suggested, such as oral analgesia, local anaesthetic, or steroid injections… Regretfully, none of these have yet demonstrated their efficacy with the validated trials. The objective of this review is to retrospectively evaluate the response to vaginal infiltrations into the trigger points (where the vaginal/perineal examination sets off the maximum intensity of pain) combining local anaesthetic and corticosteroids...
