Background Dermatoglyphics refers to the study of epidermal ridges or patterns on fingers (fingerprints) and palms (palmprints). These epidermal ridges grow concurrently with a fetus's neural development during the intrauterine stage of life. Determining genetic anomalies using dermatoglyphics can help identify congenital deformities, various other medical conditions, and how the brain functions well ahead of time. A self-report questionnaire called the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is used to identify several psychological traits influencing how people perceive their surroundings and make decisions...

Personality types are related to trustworthy, reliable, and competent communication, especially when dealing with clients. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate whether the Myers-Briggs (MBTI) indicator could be used to detect differences in the personality preferences of students at the Veterinary Faculty, University of Ljubljana (VS) compared to students at the Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security, University of Maribor (CJS). Our aim was to profile the two cohorts of students in Slovenia, to compare profiles of students from the social and natural sciences with similar personality traits, and to compare them with published results...

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality types were established in 1940s. Career planning of doctors were found related to the MBTI personality. There are 16 subtypes of MBTI based on 4 dichotomies. Relationship between MBTI and career choice has been changed gradually in last few decades. Extroverted doctors are supposed to select surgery and introverted are prone to choose medicine according to MBTI study. This was a cross-sectional study on the female interns of Sylhet Women's Medical College Hospital, Bangladesh from September 2021 to November 2021, to evaluate their MBTI personality type and the career planning of these individual subtypes...

OBJECTIVES: The specific aims of the study are to analyze relationships between the personality traits of laboratory professionals and choice of profession and preferred work settings. METHODS: Data from practicing laboratory professionals were collected via a web-based survey tool to gather information about personality types, choice of profession, and work setting preferences among medical laboratory professionals. RESULTS: Results of the survey showed that INFJ (Introversion, Intuition, Feeling, Judging) is the most common medical laboratory personality type across the various laboratory work settings and that there are no significant differences between the practitioners' personality type and the choice of profession within pathology...

AIM: The purpose of this study was to determine the most common personality type among dentists in seven selected clinical dentistry specialties using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and to compare between these different types of personalities. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A survey containing the MBTI and demographic and practice questions was used to assess the personality styles of 243 dental specialists in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The survey results were analyzed using descriptive statistics...

Anita Louise Steele, Sylvester Young
The purpose of the current study was to determine personality types and demographic characteristics of professional music educators and music therapists. The researchers also sought to determine if personality types of professionals were consistent with undergraduate majors in those fields and personal characteristics as suggested by The Music Education National Conference (MENC) and the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA). The research of Steele and Young (2008) found strong similarities and some differences between undergraduate music education and music therapy students...

SUMMARY: A standard systems-based approach to biomarker and drug target discovery consists of placing putative biomarkers in the context of a network of biological interactions, followed by different 'guilt-by-association' analyses. The latter is typically done based on network structural features. Here, an alternative analysis approach in which the networks are analyzed on a 'semantic similarity' space is reported. Such information is extracted from ontology-based functional annotations...

BACKGROUND: Information about protein interaction networks is fundamental to understanding protein function and cellular processes. Interaction patterns among proteins can suggest new drug targets and aid in the design of new therapeutic interventions. Efforts have been made to map interactions on a proteomic-wide scale using both experimental and computational techniques. Reference datasets that contain known interacting proteins (positive cases) and non-interacting proteins (negative cases) are essential to support computational prediction and validation of protein-protein interactions...

The purpose of this study was (1) to determine the personality characteristics of dental hygiene students, and (2) to determine if dental hygiene students have personality characteristics similar to those of the general population. Students from three non-baccalaureate degree programs were requested to complete a demographic questionnaire and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). Eighty-six percent of the 124 students responded. The MBTI data was analyzed using frequency distributions, electivity indices, and chi-square analyses...
