PURPOSE: In this study, we identify risk factors that predict the progression of AVL lesions over time. DESIGN: Retrospective cohort study SUBJECTS: 163 eyes of 132 patients with a diagnosis of iAMD with AVL METHODS: This retrospective study evaluated consecutive eyes with AMD from a retina clinic population and included 1181 patients and 2362 eyes. After excluding cases with associated geographic atrophy, macular neovascularization (MNV), vitreomacular traction, and those with less than two years of follow-up data, the final analysis cohort consisted of 163 eyes (132 patients) with at least one AVL lesion...

BACKGROUND: Laser skin resurfacing is a popular cosmetic procedure for noninvasive skin rejuvenation. Since health insurance plans often do not cover these types of procedures, patients often pay out of pocket. Consequently, there is an incentive to go abroad, where prices are more affordable. However, practitioners in destination countries may lack rigorous training on laser safety, regulatory oversight, or licensing, especially on devices used for "cosmetic" procedures. In certain cases, this can lead to tragic outcomes, especially when underqualified practitioners operate medical-grade laser devices...

PURPOSE: To describe clinical characteristics of a retinal finding termed mound-like epiretinal material (MOLEM), and distinguish it from epiretinal proliferation, a similar epiretinal finding previously described in various pathologies. METHODS: Five eyes from five patients were retrospectively identified from medical records. Clinical findings and images, including fundus photographs and optical coherence tomography (OCT), were reviewed. RESULTS: All eyes displayed mound-like material with uniform and low-to-moderate reflectivity on an otherwise intact retinal surface detected on OCT...
