Arabidopsis plastidic HSP90C is an HSP90 family molecular chaperone that is required for chloroplast development and function. To understand the mechanism of action of HSP90C within the chloroplast, we conducted a yeast two-hybrid screening and revealed it interacts directly with the photosystem II extrinsic protein PsbO1, which performs a canonical function in the thylakoid lumen. To understand the biological significance of HSP90C-PsbO1 interaction, we investigated the role of HSP90C in modulating the stromal and thylakoid distribution of PsbO1GFP fusion protein...

Auxin polar transport mediated by a group of Pin-formed (PIN) transporters plays important roles in plant root development. However, the mechanism underlying the PIN expression and targeting in response to different developmental and environmental stimuli is still not fully understood. Here, we report a previously uncharacterized gene SSR1, which encodes a mitochondrial protein with tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR) domains, and show its function in root development in Arabidopsis thaliana. In ssr1-2, a SSR1 knock-out mutant, the primary root growth was dramatically inhibited due to severely impaired cell proliferation and cell elongation...

INTRODUCTION: Aortic graft infection is a widely debated topic in the literature, it represents about 1% of post-surgical complications and is associated with a high complication and mortality rate. In most cases, such infections are treated empirically because patients are already under antibiotic coverage so as not to allow isolation of the pathogen. The literature in this regard is very attentive to new molecular diagnostic possibilities, and especially the operating of such complications in a precise diagnostic algorithm and management of the patient...

Primary gastric lymphoma (PGL) is a comparatively rare cancer. A large series from the literature forms the basis for a review of the clinical aspects, the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures most recently adopted and the long-term results. 1837 cases of PGL have been analysed: in 1196 of them symptomatology was painful, ulcer-like; the diagnosis of a malignant lesion was obtained in 72% of cases by radiography, while oesophagogastroduodenoscopy with biopsy produced a diagnosis of gastric lymphoma in 47.6% of cases...

A symptomatic leiomyoma of the upper esophagus was successfully removed through a fiberoptic endoscope in an 84-year-old man. Endoscopic resection via flexible endoscope may be considered as an option in treating selected cases of esophageal leiomyoma and for high surgical risk patients.

The efficiency of Bacillus sphaericus strain 2362 (Vectolex) as larvicide against Mansonia spp. was studied. Bioassay studies showed that the toxicity of B. sphaericus on both age groups (I-II instar and III-IV instar) of Mansonia spp. larvae occurred within 24 hours. Probit analysis revealed that LC100 (one hundred per cent lethal concentration) for both age groups of M. boneae were higher than those of M. dives. Small scale field trials were done at Kreng Village, Cha-uat District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, one of the most serious filarial infected areas...
