As nanoparticles behave differently from dissolved chemicals, environmental risks of these materials could differ from conventional pesticides. Here we used soil-earthworm systems to compare the fate and uptake of analytical grade bifenthrin to that of bifenthrin in traditional and nano-encapsulated formulations.
