The 16S rDNA, 16S-23S rDNA-ITS, cpcBA-IGS, mcy gene and several polysaccharide biosynthesis-related genes (epsL and TagH) were analyzed along with the identification of the morphology of Microcystis colonies collected in Lake Taihu in 2014. M. wesenbergii colonies could be distinguished directly from other colonies using espL. TagH divided all of the samples into two clusters but failed to distinguish different phenotypes. Interferon gamma (IFN-γ) signaling in T cells plays an important role in developing T helper 1 (Th1)-mediated inflammation. Selective regulation of IFN-γ signaling is an attractive strategy for treating Th1-mediated immune diseases. In this study, we aimed to explore possible means of targeting IFN-γ signaling by using small molecule compound. A synthetic small molecule FC9 was identified as it selectively inhibited IFN-γ signaling in T cells without suppressing interleukin 4 (IL-4) signaling. Here, we investigated the relationship between serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (25[OH]D3) levels and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD). NADC30-like PRRSV has been recently reported and became endemic in vaccinated pig herds in China. The outbreaks of disease in vaccinated pigs indicated the inefficacy of commercial PRRSV vaccines. In this study, five commercial PRRSV vaccines that have been widely used in China were used to evaluate the efficacy to a NADC30-like PRRSV infection. The vaccinated pigs were challenged with HNjz15, a NADC30-like PRRSV at 28days post vaccination. Compared to unvaccinated pigs, the vaccinated pigs clinically shortened the period of fever with less pig numbers of clinical manifestations and had improved body weight gain at the end of the study...
