Postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is characterized by orthostatic dizziness, tremulousness, tachycardia and variable blood pressure changes. Since some POTS patients have a marked reduction in pulse pressure on standing, a major mechanism of their symptoms might be venous pooling.
