Long tract urethral reconstruction nowadays still has no other resolution than two-stage techniques or graft and flap procedures that are neither simple nor trouble-free both for the patient and the surgeon. An ideal free graft substance for urethroplasty should: 1, be well accepted at the site of urethroplasty with rapid healing; 2, not invite secondary complications, such as cysts, hair growth and calculus formation; 3, not cause scarring or recurrent stricture disease, and 4, be easy to procure and handle. Tunica vaginalis satisfies these criteria and, in this experimental study, proved to be an excellent graft material for urethroplastic procedures.
