We report on a ratiometric fluorescent sensor based on dual-emission molecularly imprinted mesoporous silica embedded with carbon dots and CdTe quantum dots (mMIP@CDs/QDs) for celecoxib (CLX) as target molecule. The fluorescence of the embedded CDs is insensitive to the analyte while the green emissive QDs are selectively quenched by it. This effect is much stronger for the MIP than for the non-imprinted polymer, which indicates a good recognition ability of the mesoporous MIP. Organic-inorganic metal halide perovskites (e.g., CH3 NH3 PbI3-x Clx ) emerge as a promising optoelectronic material. However, the Shockley-Queisser limit for the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of perovskite-based photovoltaic devices is still not reached. Nonradiative recombination pathways may play a significant role and appear as photoluminescence (PL) inactive (or dark) areas on perovskite films. Silicene and other two-dimensional materials, such as germanene and stanene, have chemically reactive surfaces and are prone to oxidation in air, and thus require an encapsulation layer for ex situ studies or integration in an electronic device. In this work, we investigated NaCl as an encapsulation material for silicene. NaCl was deposited on the surface of epitaxial silicene on ZrB2(0001) thin films near room temperature and studied using synchrotron-based high-resolution photoelectron spectroscopy. We utilise spray-coating under ambient conditions to sequentially deposit compact-TiO2, mesoporous-TiO2, CH3NH3PbI(3-x)Clx perovskite and doped spiro-OMeTAD layers, creating a mesoporous standard architecture perovskite solar cell (PSC). Large over-potentials owing to the sluggish kinetics of battery reactions have always been the drawbacks of Li-O2 batteries, which lead to short cycle life. Although redox mediators have been intensively investigated to overcome this issue, side-reactions are generally induced by the solvated nature of redox mediators. Herein, we report an alternative method to achieve more efficient utilization of tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) in Li-O2 batteries. Chlorophylls (Chls) are abundant, naturally occurring pigments that play key roles in light-harvesting and electron/energy transfer in natural photosynthetic apparatus. To demonstrate the idea that Chls are suitable hole transporters, we employed two Chl derivatives, Chl-1 and Chl-2, which self-assembled readily into π-stacking aggregates through a simple spincasting process, in perovskite solar cells (PSCs).
