Glioma remains the most frequent malignancy of the central nervous system. Recently, necroptosis has been identified as a cell death process that mediates the proliferation and development of tumor cells. LncRNAs play a key role in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases. However, the impact that necrosis-related lncRNAs (NRLs) have on glioma remains unclear. In our studies, we selected 9 NRLs to construct a prognostic model. Meanwhile, we assessed the survival curves of these 9 NRLs. Our findings found ADGRA1-AS1 and WAC-AS1 were protective lncRNAs, while MIR210HG, LINC01503, CRNDE, HOXC-AS1, ZIM2-AS1, MIR22HG and PLBD1-AS1 were risk lncRNAs...

lncRNA Prader Willi/Angelman Region RNA 6 (PWAR6) is considered to play a protective lncRNA in glioma, but, the role of PWAR6 in the occurrence and cisplatin resistance of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is elusive. In the study, we aimed to assess the role of PWAR6 in the cisplatin resistance of NSCLC. Based on the oebiotech and TargetScanHuman database, we predicted the interaction between PWAR6, miR-577 and PHACTR1. We then used small interfering RNA (siRNA), miRNA mimics and dual-luciferase reporter assay to explore the regulatory role of PWAR6/miR-577PHACTR1...

BACKGROUND: Pituitary adenoma (PA) is a type of tumor that develops in the sella turcica and is one of the most frequent intracranial tumors. It belongs to a type of adenoma derived from a single clone of cells in the pituitary gland. PA ranks third among all intracranial tumors, following only gliomas and meningioma. The average prevalence rate is approximately 15% at autopsy and 22.5% at radiological examinations. OBJECTIVE AND SIGNIFICANCE: Most PAs are benign and non-invasive adenomas that can be removed surgically or controlled with medication...

Long-stranded noncoding RNAs (LncRNAs) are noncoding RNAs >200 nucleotides in length. Polycytidine binding protein 1 antisense LncRNA is abbreviated as LncRNA polycytosine binding protein 1 antisense1 (PCBP1-AS1). Since studies in recent years have revealed the importance of PCBP1-AS1 in human genetic analysis, it is an important member of the LncRNA family. Genetically engineered group analysis of PCBP1-AS1 regulates the progression of cancer in biology. Therefore, it may be an important RNA in the regulation of human cancer...

Brain tumours and Gliomas, in particular, are among the primary causes of cancer mortality worldwide. Glioma diagnosis and therapy have not significantly improved despite decades of efforts. Autocrine TGF-β signalling promotes glioma proliferation, invasion, epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and drug resistance. Non-coding RNAs such as miRNA, lncRNA, and circRNAs have emerged as critical transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulators of TGF-β pathway components in glioma. Here, we summarize the complex regulatory network among regulatory ncRNAs and TGF-β pathway during Glioma pathogenesis and discuss their role as potential therapeutic targets for Gliomas...

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) represent a large subgroup of RNA transcripts that lack the function of coding proteins and may be essential universal genes involved in carcinogenesis and metastasis. LncRNA metastasis-associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1 (lncRNAMALAT1) is overexpressed in various human tumors, including gliomas. However, the biological function and molecular mechanism of action of lncRNA-MALAT1 in gliomas have not yet been systematically elucidated. Accumulating evidence suggests that the abnormal expression of lncRNA-MALAT1 in gliomas is associated with various physical properties of the glioma, such as tumor growth, metastasis, apoptosis, drug resistance, and prognosis...

Gliomas are highly heterogeneous and aggressive. Malignant cells in gliomas can contact normal neurons through a synapse-like structure (called neuron-to-glioma synapse, NGS) to promote their proliferation, but it is unclear whether NGS gene expression and regulation show species- and tumor-specificity. This question is important in that many anti-cancer drugs are developed upon mouse models. To address this question, we conducted a pan-glioma analysis using nine scRNA-seq datasets from humans and mice. We also experimentally validated the key element of our methods and verified a key result using TCGA datasets of the same glioma types...

Long non-coding RNA papillary thyroid carcinoma susceptibility candidate 3 (LncRNA PTCSC3) is located on human chromosome 14q13.3. PTCSC3 functions as a tumor suppressor lncRNA to regulate essential cellular processes such as apoptosis, cell proliferation, migration, invasion, angiogenesis, and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition. PTCSC3 is also involved in the regulation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, aerobic glycolysis, and p53 pathways. Downregulation of PTCSC3 has been associated with an increased risk of many tumors such as thyroid, gastric, laryngeal, breast, cervical, oral, lung, and glioma cancers...

Glioma represents a complex and heterogeneous disease, posing significant challenges to both clinicians and researchers. Despite notable advancements in glioma treatment, the overall survival rate for most glioma patients remains dishearteningly low. In recent years, long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have emerged as pivotal regulators of gene expression and have garnered attention for their involvement in the development and progression of various cancers, including glioma...
