We report a case of fatal anaphylactoid shock caused by a CT examination using nonionic contrast medium. A 79-year-old female patient was diagnosed with right recurrent nerve plasy. There was no known history of drug allergy or exposure to contrast medium. Approximately 50 seconds after contrast medium bolus injection began, the patient was noted to be apneic. Despite cardiopulmonary resucitation, the patient died. An autopsy demonstrated marked laryngeal edema and showed extensive mast cell infiltration.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of oxygen free radical on the enhancement of IL-1 activity in vivo and in vitro on hemorrhagic and resuscitated rat. UNLABELLED: Of the 733 patients with implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) from 1982 to 1995 in our center, 20 died suddenly while the ICD was activated. In 53 extensively burned patients, a comparative study was conducted on lactated Ringer's solution, colloid plus lactated Ringer's solution and hypertonic lactated saline solution on their hemodynamic and respiratory effects.
