The aim of this paper was to determine the effects of 28 days of inactivity on neuromuscular performance of elite women pole-vaulters. Four athletes undertook measurements of rate of force development (RFD), unloaded and loaded vertical jump tests, drop jumps and a 45 m sprint test before and after a transition period of planned inactivity. The RFD, the ability to accelerate over very short distances (5 m) and sprinting capacity improved after training cessation.
