Accurate assessment of corneal curvatures using frequency domain optical coherence tomography (OCT) with galvanometer scanners remains challenging due to the well-known scan field distortion. This paper presents an algorithm and software for correcting the distortion using only two simple measurements in which a readily available standard sphere is positioned in different depths in front of the OCT scanner. This offers a highly accessible and easily reproducible method for the field distortion correction (FDC)...

However, further research is needed. OBJECTIVE: To assess the efficacy and safety of combining both intravitreal Ziv-aflibercept and suprachoroidal injection of triamcinolone acetonide using a custom-made needle in naïve and de novo central diabetic macular edema (DME) patients every eight weeks for 24 weeks...

Ibudilast, an inhibitor of macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) and phosphodiesterase (PDE), has been recently shown to have neuroprotective effects in a variety of neurologic diseases. We utilize a chick excitotoxic retinal damage model to investigate ibudilast's potential to protect retinal neurons. Using single cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq), we find that MIF, putative MIF receptors CD74 and CD44, and several PDEs are upregulated in different retinal cells during damage. Intravitreal ibudilast is well tolerated in the eye and causes no evidence of toxicity...

PURPOSE: To quantify metamorphopsia in patients with resolved idiopathic Central Serous Chorioretinopathy (CSCR) using M-CHARTS and compare the results with the traditional Amsler grid and optical coherence tomography (OCT). PATIENTS AND METHODS: For the purpose of this study, all consecutive cases of patients with resolved CSCR were evaluated for metamorphopsia (using the standard Amsler grid and M-CHARTS) and spectral domain OCT. The OCT images were analyzed for the following five parameters: central macular thickness, pigment epithelial detachment, retinal pigment epithelial bumps, discontinuation in the inner segment/outer segment junction or the external limiting membrane, fibrinous exudates in the subretinal space, and hyperreflective dots in the intraretinal and/or subretinal layer...

Various ocular manifestations associated with COVID-19 and vaccines, affecting both the anterior and posterior segments of the eye have been documented in the literature. In this report, we present the case of a 25-year-old male who complained of sudden-onset blurred vision and metamorphopsia in both eyes one day after receiving the second dose of the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine. The visual loss was painless, with no reported flashes or floaters. The patient had no significant medical or surgical history, no history of trauma, and no drug intake...
