BACKGROUND: Total occlusion of the iliac-femoral tract can cause a variety of life-limiting symptoms ranging from mild claudication to chronic limb-threatening ischemia. Efforts should be made to revascularize the symptomatic ischemic limb. Currently there are different options in the vascular surgeon's armamentarium to achieve this. The aim of the study was to verify the feasibility and outcomes of inflow hybrid revascularizations combining femoral endarterectomy and recanalization of iliac atherosclerotic occlusion...

Takayasu's arteritis is a chronic inflammatory disease that primarily affects the large vessels, such as the aorta and its branches. It represents the third most frequent vasculitis during pediatric age. Our objective was to describe clinical and complementary exams features as well as treatment modalities of a case series of pediatric patients. We present 11 patients (10 girls) with median age at onset of 8 years (range: 2-15). The median diagnosis delay was 16 months (range: 2-96). Clinical presentations were lower limb claudication, arterial hypertension, CNS involvement, presence of murmurs, systemic symptoms, lymphadenopathy, chest pain, abdominal pain and arthritis...

UNLABELLED: The neurological manifestations of Fabry disease include severe episodes of lancinating pain and burning paraesthesias in the extremities, often triggered by changes in temperature. The preferential involvement of small nerve fibres and the accumulation of storage product in the central autonomic nervous system and autonomic ganglia means that standard neurophysiological procedures cannot adequately evaluate the peripheral and autonomic nervous systems of affected patients...

17-year experience in surgical treatment of 302 elderly and old patients with occlusive disease of aorta and iliac arteries and critical limb ishaemia is analyzed. Different surgical policy depending on the type and length of atherosclerotic lesion and somatic state is offered. For persons in especially grave somatic state extraanatomical bypass operations (90 patients) were recommended, their technique was discussed in detail. Causes of postoperative complications were analyzed and prophylactic measures suggested...
