Neurodegeneration with brain iron accumulation (NBIA) is a heterogeneous group of single gene disorders with distinguished clinical phenotypes and definitive imaging findings. Beta propeller protein-associated neurodegeneration (BPAN) is a subentity of NBIA with X linked dominant inheritance.
