Procedure for Prolapse and Hemorrhoids (PPH or Longo procedure), a stapled circumferential anal mucosectomy, has proven to be very popular as it is considered safe and successful. However, a high haemorrhoid recurrence rate is reported, specially due to insufficient mucosal resection. The authors have come up with a technical modification to the mucoprolapsectomy, notably the Single Stapler Parachute Technique (SSPT), in order to obtain more abundant mucosal resection. The search of innovative procedures, able to associate the possibility of treating the hemorrhoidal disease with of "mini-invasiveness", is of growing interest. Hemorrhoids are a common condition in adult population with prevalence of about 4%. Only a third of patients with symptomatic hemorrhoids seek medical help. Thrombosed external hemorrhoids (TEH) and anal fissure (AF) are 2 frequent sources of anal pains during childbirth. We are going to define their incidences as available in publications and in our experience in Bichat hospital. Then we will define their risk factors. The properties of laser scalpel (perfect homeostasis, aseptic coagulation surface, formation of dense coagulation crust) make it useful for proctological operations, and for ablation of hemorrhoids in particular. Operations were performed on 11 patients aged 33 to 62. No complications were noted. All the patients were followed in the postoperative period from 8 to 12 months. Recurrences, development of strictures or weakness of the anal constrictor were not noted.
