A novel MoS2 /polyaniline (PANI)/polyacrylonitrile (PAN)@BiFeO3 bilayer hollow nanofiber membrane (PPBM-H) was successfully synthesized by coaxial electrospinning technique. In the nanofiber, BiFeO3 nanoparticles (NPs) and MoS2 nanosheets (NSs) were loaded in the middle and outer layers of the PANI/PAN composites, respectively, which constructs a type II heterojunction with spatially separated microtopography, thus significantly improving the charge separation in photocatalysis. Moreover, the hollow structure and the vast number of exposed groups on the surface of PPBM-H help to improve the mass transfer efficiency and pollutant adsorption performance in wastewater treatment...

The coaxial electrospinning method for preparation of g-C3 N4 /polyacrylonitrile (PAN)/polyaniline (PANI)@LaFeO3 cable fiber membrane (PC@PL) was designed for adsorption-filtration-photodegradation of pollutants. A series of characterization results show that LaFeO3 and g-C3 N4 nanoparticles (NPs) are respectively loaded in the inner and outer layers of PAN/PANI composite fibers to construct the site-specific Z-type heterojunction system with spatially separated morphologies. The PANI in cable not only possesses abundant exposed amino/imino functional groups for adsorption of contaminant molecules but also due to the excellent electrical conductivity works as a redox medium for collecting and consuming the electrons and holes from LaFeO3 and g-C3 N4 , which can efficiently promote photo-generated charge carriers separation and improve the catalytic performance...

We developed an integrated gas diffusion layer (GDL) for proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells by growing carbon nanofibers (CNFs) in situ on carbon paper via the electro-polymerization of polyaniline (PANI) on carbon paper followed by a subsequent carbonization treatment process. The CNF/carbon paper showed a microporous structure and a significantly increased pore volume compared to commercial carbon paper. By utilizing this CNF/carbon paper in a PEM fuel cell, it was found that the cell with CNF/carbon paper had superior performance compared to the commercial GDL at both high and low humidity conditions, and its power density was as high as 1...

Developing highly efficient and stable precious metal electrocatalysts toward hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) is crucial for energy application, while it is still challenging to achieve highly dispersed ultrafine metal nanoparticles on some promising supports to synergistically promote their electrocatalytic performance. Herein, we propose a feasible chelating adsorption-engaged strategy by introducing de-doped polyaniline with abundant amino groups to immobilize ultrafine iridium (Ir) nanoparticles on their derived N-doped carbon nanofibers (Ir-NCNFs)...

Simple and green strategy was described for the development of multifunctional polyester nanofibers (PNFs). Solution blow spinning (SBS) technology was applied to in situ immobilize nanocomposites of polyaniline (PANi) and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) into plasma-treated polyester nanoscaled fibers prepared. The polyester nanofibers were prepared from recycled polyethylene terephthalate waste, which was exposed plasma-curing and a REDOX reaction in the presence of AgNO3 , aniline, and CH3 COONH4 . Plasma-catalyzed oxidative polymerization of aniline to polyaniline together with a reductive process of Ag+ to silver nanoparticles led to their enduring insoluble dispersion into the surface of polyester nanofibers...

Nanofeatured polyaniline (PANI) electrodes have demonstrated impressive sensing performance due to the enhanced electrolyte diffusion and ion transport. However, the retaining of these nanostructures on substrates via electrophoretic deposition (EPD) faces an insurmountable challenge from the involved dedoping process. Here, camphorsulfonic acid is utilized with high steric effects to dope PANI (PANI-CSA) that can be directly used EPD without involving a dedoping process. Five different nanofeatures (sea cucumber-like, nanofiber, amorphous, nanotube, and nanorod) are synthesized, and they have been all successfully transferred onto indium tin oxide substrate in a formic acid/acetonitrile system, namely a morphology memory effect...

Although the influence of the inorganic salts on their morphology, including the surface and the diameter, was investigated, the influence of salt on the nucleation of PANI was still unclear...

Although mimicking the extracellular matrix geometry, such scaffolds are highly hydrophobic and usually present an inhomogeneous morphology with massive beads that impede nerve cell-material interactions. Therefore, the present study launches an exclusive combinatorial strategy merging successive pre- and post-electrospinning plasma treatments to cope with these issues...

Polyaniline (PANi) hydrogels often exhibit highly mechanical and electrochemical properties, which have received extensive attention in the fields of batteries, supercapacitors, and sensors. However, the shortcomings such as hydrophobicity and easy aggregation of PANi frequently result in deterioration of mechanical and electrochemical performance of PANi hydrogels. Here, a bifunctional natural product, glycyrrhizic acid (GL), is utilized to prepare the homogeneous conductive PANi hydrogel, because GL not only can assemble into supramolecular hydrogel as the biocompatible matrix but also can salinize aniline monomers to facilitate the polymerization in situ to form uniformly dispersed PANi within GL matrix...
