Assessing the number of past suicide attempts is vital in clinical and research settings, as it is a significant variable in assessing suicide risk. This study sought to compare the accuracy of the C-SSRS and the BSS in reporting past suicide attempts in schizophrenia spectrum disorders . Six hundred participants were recruited from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, and completed the BSS and C-SSRS. A medical chart review was performed to determine the number of past suicide attempts. In addition, receiver operating characteristic curves were generated to compare the accuracy of both tests under various stratifications...

Using e^{+}e^{-} collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 7.33  fb^{-1} recorded by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.128 and 4.226 GeV, we present an analysis of the decay D_{s}^{+}→π^{+}π^{-}e^{+}ν_{e}, where the D_{s}^{+} is produced via the process e^{+}e^{-}→D_{s}^{*±}D_{s}^{∓}. We observe the f_{0}(980) in the π^{+}π^{-} system and the branching fraction of the decay D_{s}^{+}→f_{0}(980)e^{+}ν_{e} with f_{0}(980)→π^{+}π^{-} measured to be (1...

INTRODUCTION: Entrepreneurs play a central role in economic and social stability, yet the start-up rate in Germany has declined in recent years, possibly due to the stress associated with entrepreneurial endeavors. Stressors such as financial uncertainty and time pressure are prevalent among entrepreneurs and negatively affect their psychological well-being. However, research on stress management strategies among self-employed individuals remains limited. METHODS: This pilot study conducted a quantitative analysis with 117 self-employed participants in Germany...

Spontaneously broken symmetries are at the heart of many phenomena of quantum matter and physics more generally. However, determining the exact symmetries that are broken can be challenging due to imperfections such as strain, in particular when multiple electronic orders are competing. This is exemplified by charge order in some kagome systems, where evidence of nematicity and flux order from orbital currents remains inconclusive due to contradictory measurements. Here we clarify this controversy by fabricating highly symmetric samples of a member of this family, CsV3 Sb5 , and measuring their transport properties...

A biotechnological platform consisting of two-color 3D super-resolution readout and a microfluidic system was developed to investigate platelet interaction with a layer of perfused endothelial cells under flow conditions. Platelet activation has been confirmed via CD62P clustering on the membrane and mitochondrial morphology of ECs at the single cell level were examined using 3D two-color single-molecule localization microscopy and classified applying machine learning. To compare binding of activated platelets to intact or stressed ECs, a femtosecond laser was used to induced damage to single ECs within the perfused endothelial layer...

In this paper, we consider online multiple testing with familywise error rate (FWER) control, where the probability of committing at least one type I error will remain under control while testing a possibly infinite sequence of hypotheses over time. Currently, adaptive-discard (ADDIS) procedures seem to be the most promising online procedures with FWER control in terms of power. Now, our main contribution is a uniform improvement of the ADDIS principle and thus of all ADDIS procedures. This means, the methods we propose reject as least as much hypotheses as ADDIS procedures and in some cases even more, while maintaining FWER control...

BACKGROUND: Gait impairment has a major impact on quality of life in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). It is believed that basal ganglia oscillatory activity at β frequencies (15-30 Hz) may contribute to gait impairment, but the precise dynamics of this oscillatory activity during gait remain unclear. Additionally, auditory cues are known to lead to improvements in gait kinematics in PD. If the neurophysiological mechanisms of this cueing effect were better understood they could be leveraged to treat gait impairments using adaptive Deep Brain Stimulation (aDBS) technologies...

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals ( hereafter people with minoritized sexual orientation and/or gender identities) have limited legal rights and access to resources because of their marginalized status in society. These limitations are associated with notable health disparities and increase experiences of minority stress. For those in a romantic relationship, being able to communicate and cope with one's partner-dyadic coping-can help buffer stress' deleterious effects on well-being. Given the promise of understanding how dyadic coping can mitigate experiences of sexual minority stress, the Dyadic Coping Inventory-Sexual Minority Stress (DCI-SMS) was recently created and validated with those living in the United States to assess how partners cope with sexual minority stress...

Herein, a pulsed CVD (Pt-pCVD) approach is employed to deposit different Pt entities on mesoporous N-doped carbon (MPNC) nanospheres to design high-performance hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) electrocatalysts. Biosimilar development refers to the process of creating a biologic drug that is similar to an existing approved biologic drug, also known as a reference drug. Due to the complex nature of biologics drugs and the inherent variability in their manufacturing process biosimilars are not identical but highly similar to the reference drug in terms of quality, safety, and efficacy. Efficacy and safety trials for biosimilars involve large numbers of patients to confirm comparable clinical performance of the biosimilar and the reference product in appropriately sensitive clinical indications and for appropriate sensitive endpoints...

Topological phases in laterally confined low-dimensional nanographenes have emerged as versatile design tools that can imbue otherwise unremarkable materials with exotic band structures ranging from topological semiconductors and quantum dots to intrinsically metallic bands. The periodic boundary conditions that define the topology of a given lattice have thus far prevented the translation of this technology to the quasi-zero-dimensional (0D) domain of small molecular structures. Here, we describe the synthesis of a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) featuring two localized zero modes (ZMs) formed by the topological junction interface between a trivial and nontrivial phase within a single molecule...

INTRODUCTION: Recent research has uncovered a wide prevalence variation of suicidal ideation in university students ranging from 9.7% to 58.3%. India has witnessed a 4.5% increase in suicide rates in the year 2021. The interplay between cognitive reappraisal of a stressful situation, suppression of emotional expression, and coping strategies for suicidal ideation of Indian University students is yet to be explored. We aim to determine whether suicidal ideation would differ across different types of family units, and to predict the extent to which perceived social support and avoidant coping could mediate the relation between emotion regulation processes and suicidal ideation...

INTRODUCTION: Electronic cigarettes and "vaping" have become popular since their appearance in Europe and the USA in approximately 2006. They are often perceived as having fewer health risks than conventional cigarettes, which makes them of interest as a support tool in smoking cessation. However, its efficacy regarding cessation or reduction of smoking under real-life conditions remains controversial. Flotation of the mineral lithium aluminate by application of the natural product punicine and some derivatives as collectors is examined. Punicines, 1-(2´,5´-dihydroxyphenyl)-pyridinium compounds, are switchable molecules whose properties can be changed reversibly. They exist as cations, neutral mesomeric betaines, anions, and dianions depending on the pH. In light, they form radicals. Five punicine derivatives were prepared which possess β-methyl, β-chlorine, γ-tert.-butyl, and γ-acetyl groups attached to the pyridinium ring, and a pyrogallol derivative...
