SESSION TYPE: Bronchology Student/Resident Case Report PostersPRESENTED ON: Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 01:30 PM - 02:30 PMINTRODUCTION: Bronchial Atresia is a congenital anomaly of great significance for its varied observations and its semblance to acquired pathological conditions. The co-existence of mucoid impaction and lobar emphysema due to bronchial atresia and bronchogenic cyst is exceedingly rare, and-as outlined in our case-can represent a major diagnostic dilemma.CASE PRESENTATION: A 45-year-old female with a history of endometriosis presented to clinic for evaluation of four-months of dyspnea and cough...

This report describes a patient with biliary atresia (BA) associated with polysplenia syndrome who showed a rapid progression of intrapulmonary arteriovenous shunting (IPS), resulting in a fatal outcome. Intrauterine ultrasonography at 36 weeks of gestation revealed fetal abnormalities, including situs inversus, absent retrohepatic inferior vena cava, and azygous connection. She was diagnosed postnatally as BA because of persistent acholic stool and neonatal jaundice. She underwent hepatic portoenterostomy at age 158 days...

After sonography, computerized tomography, gastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy the preoperative presumptive diagnosis was a carcinoma of the transvers colon invading the abdominal wall...

The second part of the study "Computerized tomography of the brain in children" is a continuation of the first one published in Supplement for the Collection of Scientific Works by Charles University's Medical Faculty in Hradec Králové from 1990. The former is issued from analyzing 1283 pathological CT findings investigated in newborns and children up to 15 years of age. The present study is concerned with not only the precise diagnosis of the lesion site but also with the type diagnosis and observation of further development of either affected or operated on children brain...
