As an azo dye, OG has toxic and harmful effects on ecosystems. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop a green, environmentally friendly, and efficient catalyst to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for the degradation of OG. In this study, the catalysts MIL-101(Fe) and NH2 -MIL-101(Fe) were prepared using a solvothermal method to carry out degradation experiments. They were characterized by means of XRD, SEM, XPS, and FT-IR, and the results showed that the catalysts were successfully prepared. Then, a catalyst/PMS system was constructed, and the effects of different reaction systems, initial pH, temperature, catalyst dosing, PMS concentration, and the anion effect on the degradation of OG were investigated...

Sustainable strategies to improve the water resistance of cellulose paper are actively sought. In this work, polymeric microspheres (PMs), prepared through emulsion polymerization of cellulose nanofibers stabilized rubber seed oil-derived monomer, were investigated as coatings on corrugated medium paper (CMP). After infiltrating porous paper with PMs, the water-resistant corrugated papers (WRCPn ) with enhanced mechanical properties were obtained. When 30 wt% PMs were introduced, WRCP30 turned out to be highly compacted with an increased water contact angle of 106...

BACKGROUND: Surgical management of parasagittal meningiomas (PMs) still remains controversial in literature. The need to pursue a resection as radical as possible along with the high risk of venous injuries contribute to making the sinus opening a widely argued choice. The aim of our study was to analyze factors affecting the risk of recurrence and to assess clinical outcome of patients that underwent surgical resection of PMs with conservative or aggressive management of the intrasinusal portion...

Brominated and nitrated byproducts generated from bromide (Br- ) and nitrite (NO2 - ), respectively, by sulfate radical (SO4 •- ) oxidation have raised increasing concern. However, little is known about the concurrent generation of brominated and nitrated byproducts in the unactivated peroxymonosulfate (PMS) oxidation process. This study revealed that Br- can facilitate the transformation of NO2 - to nitrated byproducts during unactivated PMS oxidation of phenol. In the co-existence of 0.1 mM Br- and 0...

The incidence of lung cancer, especially lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), has recently increased. Targeted therapy and immunotherapy combined with conventional treatment have shown surprising benefits in enhancing the LUAD patient's prognosis. For the purpose of guiding treatment planning and the prognosis of LUAD, more research is required. The particular aim of this work was to establish a purine metabolism scoring (PMS) model for the purpose of individually forecasting treatment outcomes and overall survival for patients who have LUAD...

Developing cobalt-based catalysts with a high abundance of oxygen vacancies (Vo ) and exceptional Vo utility efficiency for the prompt removal of stubborn contaminants through peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation poses a significant challenge. Herein, we reported the synthesis of the reduced Mg-doped Co3 O4 nanosheets, i.e. Mg-doped Co3 O4 -r, via Mg doping and followed by NaBH4 reduction, aiming to degrade tetracycline (TC). Various characterization results illustrated that NaBH4 reduction imparted higher Vo utility efficiency to Mg-doped Co3 O4 -r, along with an ample presence of reduced Co2+ species and an increased surface area, thereby substantially elevating PMS activation capability...

Recently, the Fenton-like reaction using peroxymonosulfate (PMS) has been acknowledged as a potential method for breaking down organic pollutants. In this study, we successfully synthesized a highly efficient and stable single atom molybdenum (Mo) catalyst dispersed on nitrogen-doped carbon (Mo-NC-0.1). This catalyst was then utilized for the first time to activate PMS and degrade bisphenol A (BPA). The Mo-NC-0.1/PMS system demonstrated the ability to completely degrade BPA within just 20 min. Scavenging tests and density functional theory (DFT) calculations have demonstrated that the primary reactive oxygen species was singlet oxygen (1 O2 ) produced by Mo-N4 sites...
