Human brain in prenatal period is a most vulnerable to ionizing radiation body structure. Unlike atomic bombings or radiological interventions in healthcare leading at most to external irradiation the intensive internal exposure may occur upon nuclear reactor accidents followed by substantial release and fallout of radioactive 131I. The latter can lead to specific neuroradioembryological effects. OBJECTIVE: To create an experimental model of prenatal cerebral radiation effects of 131I in human and to determine the experimental and clinical neuroradioembryological effects...

OBJECTIVE: In experiments performed on Vistar rats with Walker tumors, F. Luksch observed transfer of malignant cells during different manipulations into the blood circulation of the animals. During gynecologic surgery of a choriocarcinoma and of an ovarian carcinoma Luksch and Cernoch prooved trace of malignant cells within the blood circulation related to the manipulation of tumors during surgery. Therefore, as prevention of the metastazing of tumor cells, they proposed to ligate ampular portions of oviducts and hypogastric vessels as the first step of the radical surgeries...

OBJECTIVE: Benzodiazepine receptors (BDR) in synaptosomal and mitochondrial membranes from different brain areas of alcohol abused patients (postmortem) and the brain cortex of male rats (Vistar line) with different preference to alcohol were studied. METHODS: Synaptosomal and mitochondrial receptors of membranes from different brain areas of patients with alcohol addiction and controls were explored using radioreceptor analysis with selective ligands [3H]flunitrazepam and [3H]PK-11195...

The influence of tumor development on the blood plasma antioxidant system in the area of tumor growth has been studied. Zajdela ascite hepatoma transplanted to the abdominal cavity of Vistar rats was used as a model of tumor growth. It hase been found that tumor development produced and imbalance between pro- and antioxidant systems in the organism of tumor bearer. Besides, a sharp decrease in tocopherol and uric acid concentrations (twice), as well as in the concentration of protein SH-groups (seven times) was noted...

The article investigates morphological changes in pancreas, liver, and small intestine after early enteral nutrition in Vistar rats after modeling of acute pancreatitis and creation of jejunostomy. Morphological changes and redox potential measurements show that early enteral nutrition via micro-jejunostomy slows down the development of pathological processes in Vistar rats.

The antimutagenic and geroprotective activities of root extracts of Glycyrrhiza glabra have been demonstrated both on plant test systems--Allium fistulosum L., Allium cepa L., Vicia faba L. and on animals--Vistar rats. The possibilities of the mobilization of Glycyrrhiza glabra root extracts as antimutagenic agents are discussed.

The condition of the system "prooxidants-antioxidants" in dynamic model alimentary dyslipidemia in Vistar rats of the lines were studied. General antioxidant activities, activities of antioxidant enzymes (katalase, glutathione reductase, glutathione peroxidase), levels of glutathione, products of lipoperoxides in blood and liver, intensive forming of the oxide nitrogen and monoxide carbon were investigated. The role of the signal molecules (oxide nitrogen and monoxide carbon) in regulation oxidative stress was discussed...

A reaction of high-temperature solid-phase catalytic isotope exchange (HSCIE) was studied for the preparation of tritium- and deuterium-labeled ligands of glutamate and dopamine receptors. Tritium-labeled (5S,10R)-(+)-5-methyl-10,11-dihydro-5H-dibenzo[a,d]cyclopenten-5,10-imine ([G-(3)H]MK-801) and R(+)-7-hydroxy-N,N-di-n-propyl-2-aminotetraline ([G-(3)H]-7-OH-DPAT) were obtained with a specific activity of 210 and 120 Ci/mol, respectively. The isotopomeric distribution of deuterium-labeled ligands was studied using time-of-flight mass-spectrometer MX 5310 (ESI-o-TOF) with electrospray and orthogonal ion injection...

To study the involvement of angiotensin III in the development of alcoholism and other types of behavioural activity the research on 24 male rats of Vistar species with 180-250 g weight was conducted. Alcoholic motivation was created by alcoholic beverage consisting of 20% ethyl alcohol water solution. The experiment lasted 30-day time period. It was concluded that the effect of angiotensin III depend on the individual resistance or predisposition to alcohol.

It was studied the stress generated potential (SGP) of moist femur bones of 24 Vistar rats-males in normo- and hypokinesia conditions. The mechanical loading on bone was evened 30-50 and 100% from animal body mass. The mechanical pressure was carried out in axial direction. The rats stay in hard hypokinesia for 28 days. In all experiments Ag-AgCl with a salt bridge from 0,9% NaCl in 2% agar were utilized (Cochran G.V. et al., 1989). It was set that amplitude of electric potential which arises up in bones at the mechanical loading depends on the level of this loading...

To study the biocompatibility of porous glass ceramics, experiments were conducted on: 75 white mice (Vistar); 11 rabbits (Shinshila) and 6 dogs. The porous alumina ceramic implants were embedded subperiostaly without additional fixation to bone surface. The osseointegration of implants, the size and form maintaining, changing of physical properties and long-term results in bone substitution were studied. The handling properties during surgery were also evaluated.

Vistar rats (stress resistant) and August rats (stress-sensitive) were injected with one-time d,l-amphetamine dosages of 1,0 and 2,5 mg/kg. Specific activity of enzymes involved in dopamine and serotonin metabolism - tyrosine hydroxylase, tryptophan hydroxylase, monoaminooxidase, types A and B - was determined and l-dioxyphenylalanine content measured in brain subfractions (sensomotor cortex and striatum). August rats differed from Vistar rats by enzyme activity indices as well as by neuronchemical index expressing a ratio of the specific activity indices of enzymes studied in the sensomotor cortex and the striatum...

Development of exudative skin necrosis in female rats of Vistar line was caused by Selye method (with help of subcutaneons injections of sodium chlorate). The number of rats which got skin necrosis was bigger than when animals were fed on food containing butter or sardine fat, at that in the second case bigger than first one. The necrosis area in rats, which were fed on different rations, was the some.

Acute liver failure treatment nowadays is a common problem in modern hepatology, despite of well studied pathogenesis and treatment modalities, lethality of the disease is still high, and in 21 century in the world's best clinics it accounts to 70-80%. For uptake of isolated hepatocytes we uses the fermental-mechanical method modified by Korukhov (1983) for the treatment of acute liver failure by hepatocyte allotransplantation and to stimulate liver reparative regeneration processes, which gives a chance to liver for the function restoration by replacement of injured hepatocytes with transplanted liver cells...
