Myosin binding protein H-like (MYBPHL) is a protein associated with myofilament structures in atrial tissue. The protein exists in two isoforms that share an identical amino acid sequence except for a deletion of 23 amino acids in isoform 2. In this study, MYBPHL was found to be expressed preferentially in atrial tissue. The expression of isoform 2 was almost exclusively restricted to the atria and barely detectable in the ventricle, arteria mammaria interna, and skeletal muscle. The coronary subclavian-steal-syndrome is a rare cause for angina pectoris following A. mammaria interna bypass operation. A 72-year-old male patient presented with vertigo and angina pectoris. Femoropopliteal bypass with below-the-knee anastomosis and the use of an autogenous saphenous vein yields the best results in longtime patency rate compared to the use of other graft materials. With anastomosis above the knee equally good results are also found with other graft materials. However, the late results show that even the saphenous vein is no perfect vessel substitute. Therefore, the indication for operation should be selected mainly for limb salvage and rest pain in stages III and IV, and the saphenous vein should be preserved for below-the-knee anastomosis...

The potency orders were bimakalim = EMD 56431 > nicorandil for relaxation in human coronary artery and bimakalim = EMD 56431 > nicorandil in human arteria mammaria. These data demonstrate that K(+)-channel openers are effective vasorelaxant agents in human coronary artery and human arteria mammaria. The frequency and the treatment of the sternal fractures is discussed by the authors. 5 patients with sternal fractures have been treated by the authors, and 3 of them were operated on. In one patient early operation has been performed, and in another the osteosynthesis of the sternum has been carried out 3 years after the lesion. In the 3d patient the bone piece broken down from the sternum damaged the arteria mammaria int. sin., necessitating thus surgical intervention.
