In the present study, we report the green synthesis of NiO nanoparticles using Aegle marmelos as a fuel and this method is ecofriendly and cost effective. The plant Aegle marmelos is used in the field of pharmaceuticals to cure diseases like chronic diarrhea, peptic ulcers and dysentery in India for nearly 5 centuries. The physical properties of doped multifunctional compounds are commonly tuned by controlling the amount of dopants, but this control is limited because all the properties are influenced simultaneously by this single parameter. Here, we present a strategy that enables the fine-tuning of a specific combination of properties by controlling the reduction of dopants. LaTiO2 N photocatalysts were prepared by thermal ammonolysis of flux-synthesized La2 Ti2 O7 and La2 TiO5 , and were investigated for water oxidation. Though LaTiO2 N derived from La2 TiO5 appears defect-free by UV/Vis/near-IR and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy, its performance is much lower than that of conventional La2 Ti2 O7 -derived LaTiO2 N with defects. It is shown by Mott-Schottky analysis that La2 TiO5 -derived LaTiO2 N has significantly lower donor density; this can result in insufficient built-in electric field for the separation of photogenerated electrons and holes...

We report, the enhanced photocatalytic behaviour of Cu doped ZnS micro crystals. ZnS and different concentrations of Cu doped ZnS microcrystals were prepared. X-ray diffraction confirms the crystalline and phase of the particles. Morphology and sizes were studied using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Recorded optical absorption spectra show a band for around 365nm for pure ZnS, but there is a broad band in the near infrared regime for the Cu-doped ZnS microcrystals which are attributed to the d-d transitions of Cu2+ ions...

In the present study, g-C3N4/Fe3O4/Ag3PO4/AgCl nanocomposites endowed with efficient photocatalytic activity under visible-light irradiation have been successfully prepared by a facile ultrasonic-irradiation method. The prepared samples were characterized by XRD, EDX, AAS, SEM, TEM, UV-vis DRS, FT-IR, TG, PL, and VSM techniques. A highly asymmetric A2BC type zinc phthalocyanine (Zn-di-PcNcTh) has been designed and synthesized. The Zn-di-PcNcTh used a π electron rich thiophene ring in place of the benzenoid rings of phthalocyanine which acted as an electron donor, diphenylphenoxy substituents to retard aggregation and a carboxyl-naphthalene unit as an electron acceptor. In this study, a novel titanium dioxide nanotubes and graphene (GR-TNT) nano-composite was synthesized through a hydrothermal method. The introduction of GR was aimed to reduce the rapid electron-hole recombination of TiO2 thus improving their phtotcatalytic behavior in real application. Doping of nickel into AgGaS2 yields a new absorption band, at a wavelength longer than the intrinsic absorption band of the AgGaS2 host. The doped nickel forms an electron donor level in a forbidden band of AgGaS2 . The nickel-doped AgGaS2 with rhodium co-catalyst shows photocatalytic activity for sacrificial H2 evolution under the light of up to 760 nm due to the transition from the electron donor level consisting of Ni(2+) to the conduction band of AgGaS2 .
