Transparent and brown La2 O3 -MoO3 binary glasses were prepared in bulk form using a levitation technique. The glass-forming range was limited, with the primary composition being approximately 25 mol % La2 O3 . The 25La2 O3 -75MoO3 glass exhibited a clear crystallization at 546 °C, while determining its glass transition temperature was difficult. Notably, despite its amorphous nature, the glass possessed a density and packing density comparable to those of crystalline La2 Mo3 O12 . X-ray absorption fine structure and Raman scattering analyses revealed that the glass structure closely resembles La2 Mo3 O12 due to the presence of isolated MoO4 2- units, whereas disordered atomic arrangement around La atoms was confirmed...

Artificial optoelectronic synapses (OES) have attracted extensive attention in brain-inspired information processing and neuromorphic computing. However, OES at near-infrared wavelengths have rarely been reported, seriously limiting the application in modern optical communication. Herein, high-performance near-infrared OES devices based on VO2 /MoO3 heterojunctions are presented. The textured MoO3 films are deposited on the sputtered VO2 film by using the glancing-angle deposition technique to form a heterojunction device...

The discovery of ultraconfined polaritons with extreme anisotropy in a number of van der Waals (vdW) materials has unlocked new prospects for nanophotonic and optoelectronic applications. However, the range of suitable materials for specific applications remains limited. Here we introduce tellurite molybdenum quaternary oxides-which possess non-centrosymmetric crystal structures and extraordinary nonlinear optical properties-as a highly promising vdW family of materials for tunable low-loss anisotropic polaritonics...

Organic photodetectors (OPDs) have attracted tremendous interest due to their potential applications in wearable electronics. However, due to the nonideal contacts between the electrodes and organic semiconductors, OPDs still suffer from high dark current and slow frequency response. Herein, by inserting potassium aspartic acid (PAA) interlayers between ITO/metal oxides and the metal oxides/active layer, the shunts and hole injections are blocked and the energy levels of the electrodes are aligned. As a result, our dual-interface modified OPDs (ITO/PAA/ZnO/PAA/PTB7-Th:ITIC/MoO3 /Ag) exhibit suppressed dark current 550 times lower than the reference device, corresponding to specific detectivity of 2...

This study is focused on the fabrication and characterization of solution-based molybdenum trioxide (MoO3 ) memristors under different annealing temperatures (200 to 400 °C). A MoO3 ink recipe is developed using water as the main solvent, enabling a simplified and cost-effective fabrication process. The excellent peroxidase-like activity of MoO3 /MIL-125-NH2 composites was attributed to the integration of MIL-125-NH2 with MoO3 , which can boost the generation of superoxide radicals (O• 2- ) and thus promote the oxidation of TMB in the presence of H2 O2 . Nitrogen-doped molybdenum trioxide (MoO3 /NC) has drawbacks such as volume expansion during long-term charging and discharging cycles, which severely limit its further application. This work proposes the addition of titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2 NPs) for performance improvement of MoO3 /NC. TiO2 NPs embedded on the surface of a MoO3 /NC nanosheet can alleviate its volume expansion and the accumulation of lithiated products and improve the conductivity of the electrode material. The results show that the MoO3 /NC nanosheet decorated with TiO2 NPs (TiO2 @MoO3 /NC), when used as an electrode material, exhibited a discharge specific capacity of 419 mA h g-1 at a current density of 0...
