INTRODUCTION: Multifocal lymphangioendotheliomatosis with thrombocytopenia (MLT) is characterized by multiple maculopapular lesions involving the stomach and the lungs, associated with thrombocytopenia as a result of platelet entrapment. Episodes of severe digestive bleeding, which are sometimes unmanageable, are one of its most frequent presentations and a cause of mortality. Our objective was to describe the various phenotypes, as well as our treatment experience. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective analysis of patients diagnosed with MLT in our vascular abnormality unit from 2007 to 2018 was carried out...

In this contest it is more frequent to observe the infection in pediatric age, sometimes also newborn. In this particular case the diagnosis can be more difficult because the clinical manifestations are different from pathognomonic lesions we usually see in adult age...

OBJECTIVES: Cisplatin-based combination chemotherapy is the mainstay of treatment for advanced bladder cancer. However, full doses of cisplatin cannot be delivered in patients with impaired renal function. Our aim was to prove the feasibility of a gemcitabine and low-dose cisplatin regimen, delivered every two weeks in patients with impaired renal function. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Patients with locally advanced or metastatic bladder cancer with creatinine clearance between 35-60 ml/min received gemcitabine 2500 mg/m2 and cisplatin 35 mg/m2 on day 1, every 14 days...
