It is urgent for automated electric transportation vehicles in coal mines to have the ability of self-adaptive tracking target constant deceleration to ensure stable and safe braking effects in long underground roadways. However, the current braking control system of underground electric trackless rubber-tired vehicles (UETRVs) still adopts multi-level constant braking torque control, which cannot achieve target deceleration closed-loop control. To overcome the disadvantages of lower safety and comfort, and the non-precise stopping distance, this article describes the architecture and working principle of constant deceleration braking systems with an electro-mechanical braking actuator...

This paper investigates a tracking control issue for a class of time-varying output constrained nonlinear systems subject to non-affine nonlinear faults and virtual control coefficients. In the controller design process, the nonlinear function is approximated by fuzzy logic systems. Utilizing a feasible function to convert the system, a new transformation strategy is proposed to handle the system with time-varying output constraints or without output constraints. The mean value theorem is applied to split non-affine faults, and the Nussbaum-type function is used to eliminate the effect of the unknown directional affine variable gain of input resulted from non-affine faults...

The diminishing supply of fossil fuels, their detrimental environmental effects, and the challenges associated with the disposal of agro-waste necessitated the development of renewable and sustainable alternative energy sources. This study aims at developing bio-briquettes from Amaranthus hybridus waste, with cassava starch as a binder; both are agricultural wastes. Before and following delignification, alkali-treated Amaranthus hybridus (TAHB) and untreated (UAHB) briquettes were evaluated in terms of combustion and physicochemical parameters...

This article presents a novel study of spherical fuzzy sets (SFSs), a more comprehensive framework of intuitionistic fuzzy sets and picture fuzzy sets. The SFS allows the decision-makers (DMs) to cope with complicated and insufficient information during the aggregation process. The Heronian mean (HrM) model theory is also utilized to express correlation among different input arguments or characteristics. Recently, the theory of Aczel Alsina triangular norms gained a lot of attention from various research scholars and has many capabilities to provide smooth approximations during decision analysis...

In recent years Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) has been growing interest in the development of vehicular communication technology. The traffic in India shows considerable fluctuations owing to the static and dynamic characteristics of road vehicles in VANET (Vehicular Adhoc Network). These vehicles take up a convenient side lane position on the road, disregarding lane discipline. They utilize the opposing lane to overtake slower-moving vehicles, even when there are oncoming vehicles approaching. The primary objective of this study is to minimize injuries resulting from vehicle interactions in mixed traffic conditions on undivided roads...

Design concept evaluation, which occurs at the end of the conceptual design phase, is a critical step in product development. The outcome of this evaluation significantly impacts the product's eventual success, as flawed design concepts are difficult to remedy in later stages. However, the evaluation of new product concepts is a procedure that encompasses elements of subjectivity and ambiguity...

Wind turbines (WTs) have highly nonlinear and uncertain dynamics due to aerodynamic complexity, mechanical factors, and fluctuations in wind conditions. Turbulence and wind shear add complexity to modelling, especially in constant power region (region 3). Thus, an effective control design demands a deep understanding of the nonlinearities and uncertainties. This paper suggests a novel model-free reinforcement learning (RL) collective pitch angle controller to operate efficiently in region 3. The proposed controller stabilizes generator speed, maximizes power output, and minimizes fluctuations while accommodating system uncertainties, nonlinearity, and pitch limits...

INTRODUCTION: The tendon-sheath actuated bending-tip system (TAB) has been widely applied to long-distance transmission scenes due to its high maneuverability, safety, and compliance, such as in exoskeleton robots, rescue robots, and surgical robots design. Due to the suitability of operation in a narrow or tortuous environment, TAB has demonstrated great application potential in the area of minimally invasive surgery. However, TAB involves highly non-linear behavior due to hysteresis, creepage, and non-linear friction existing on the tendon routing, which is an enormous challenge for accurate control...

The dynamic nature of atmospheric parameters poses challenges for traditional control methods, leading to reduced PV system efficiency and reliability. To address this issue, we introduce a novel integration of fuzzy logic and sliding mode control methodologies. Fuzzy logic enables the PV system to effectively handle imprecise and uncertain atmospheric data, allowing for decision-making based on qualitative inputs and expert knowledge...
