In the present study, we have synthesized chitin-glucan-aldehyde-quercetin (chi-glu-ald-que) conjugate via condensation reaction. In this work, amphiphilic hyaluronic acid (HA) was synthesized by the chemical bonding of steroids. Particularly, succinyl cholesterol (SCH), cholic acid (CA), deoxycholic acid (DOCA), and 18β-glycyrrhetinic acid (GA) were activated by benzoyl chloride towards the esterification reaction of HA in water. The degree of substitution can be controlled by varying the feed ratio of mixed anhydride to HA and up to 25% (mol/mol) can be obtained. In this study, fifteenth new 2,5-disubstituted analgouges of phthalimide were designed and synthesized using the appropriate synthetic route to evaluate anticonvulsant activity against the maximal electroshock (MES) and subcutaneous pentylenetetrazole (scPTZ) compare to phenytoin as a positive control. The structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by FT-IR, H-NMR, C-NMR and MASS spectroscopy. All the tested compounds were found to be effective in the PTZ model at the dose of 60 mg/kg and most of the compounds showed protection against MES test indicative of their ability to inhibit the seizure spread at the all dose ranges...

The present work was designed to evaluate the antioxidation and hepatoprotective effects of Auricularia cornea var. Li. polysaccharides (APS) and enzymatic-extractable APS (EAPS) on the acute alcohol-induced alcoholic liver diseases (ALD). The in vitro antioxidant activities demonstrated that both APS and EAPS had strong reducing power and potential effects on scavenging reactive oxygen species. The in vivo mice experiments showed that the pretreatment with APS or EAPS showed potential hepatoprotective effects on the ALD possibly by increasing the antioxidant activities, reducing the lipid peroxidation, improving the alcohol metabolism, inhibiting the expression levels of inflammatory mediators and preventing the alcohol-induced histopathological alterations...
