The phosphorus recovery efficiency in PAOs-biofilm system is so far limited to stimulating phosphorus release by adding concentrated organic carbon solution during the anaerobic stage. In present study, a PAOs-biofilm sequence batch reactor (BSBR) were operated to investigate whether increase of the phosphorus storage content via DO control can stimulate the release in the biofilm. During the operation of BSBR for 160 days, the phosphorus content in biofilm (Pbiofilm ) was doubled via increasing dissolved oxygen (DO) from 4 to 6 mg/L...

The aim of this narrative review is to confirm that acute pain after craniotomy is frequent and presents with moderate to severe intensity. We also highlight the importance of not only treating post-craniotomy pain, but also of preventing it in order to reduce the incidence of chronic pain. Physicians should be aware that conventional postoperative analgesics (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, paracetamol, cyclooxygenase inhibitors 2, opioids) are not the only options available. Performing a scalp block prior to surgical incision or after surgery, the use of intraoperative dexmedetomidine, and the perioperative administration of pregabalin are just some alternatives that are gaining ground...

Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancer. Caught early, it is often curable. The important role in functional recovery of these patients, have enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) clinical care protocol and early rehabilitation. The goal of this research is the objective evaluation of the effects of early rehabilitation in patients after surgical treatment of colorectal cancer, respecting their functional recovery and quality of life, before and after rehabilitation. Tis study was made as experimental, randomized, controlled clinical trial, opened type...
