Epitope mapping provides critical insight into antibody-antigen interactions. Epitope mapping of autoantibodies from patients with autoimmune diseases can help elucidate disease immunogenesis and guide the development of antigen-specific therapies. Similarly, epitope mapping of commercial antibodies targeting known autoantigens enables the use of those antibodies to test specific hypotheses. Anti-Neutrophil Cytoplasmic Autoantibody (ANCA) vasculitis results from the formation of autoantibodies to multiple autoantigens, including myeloperoxidase (MPO), proteinase-3 (PR3), plasminogen (PLG), and peroxidasin (PXDN)...

Mid-ultraviolet light (290-320 nm) can promote human vitamin D synthesis, which helps in the prevention and treatment of rickets and cartilage disease. For people who lack sufficient ultraviolet radiation all year round, it is significant to supplement the ultraviolet component in daily lighting sources. However, there are few luminous materials showing a combination of mid-ultraviolet light and white light emission on the market. Here, we designed a new material, Y2 Sr(Ga1- y Al y )4 SiO12 : x Pr3+ (YSGAS: x Pr3+ ), which achieves dual emission of 320 nm ultraviolet and white light from a single substrate with a single doped phosphor...

In our work, a totally anomalous thermal quenching phenomenon of red-shifted and enhanced charge transfer state (CTS) absorption is found for the first time in LiTaO3 : x Pr3+ phosphors. The crystal structure, luminescent properties and the mechanism of abnormal thermal quenching were investigated in detail.

Warm red-emitting praseodymium-doped LiSrVO4 phosphors were synthesized via solid-state reaction. The phase formation was verified using an X-ray diffraction study and the morphology was investigated using a scanning electron microscope study. The LiSrVO4 :Pr3+ phosphors emitted red light when exposed to ultraviolet light, indicating their possibility for use in warm white light-emitting diodes (WLEDs). Furthermore, the effect of charge compensators on the luminescence characteristics was addressed. The decay time was investigated using time-resolved photoluminescence...

The study aims to develop a reliable quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) model, following the criteria set by Golbraikh, Tropsha, and Roy. As a result, seven candidate compounds were developed, all having higher activity than the well-established anticancer agent Cisplatin (Cisp). In this work, we report the results of our investigations on the structural and luminescence properties of SiO2 -LaF3 :Pr3+ nano-glass-ceramics synthesized using the sol-gel method. Based on XRD, microscopic (TEM), and ATR-IR measurements, the crystallization of LaF3 nanocrystals favorably occupied by Pr3+ ions and overall transformations within the silicate sol-gel hosts dependent on heat-treatment conditions of the as-prepared amorphous xerogels were characterized. The fabricated oxyfluoride nano-glass-ceramics revealed the emissions within the greenish-blue (3 P0,1 → 3 H4 , 3 P0,1 → 3 H5 ), reddish-orange (3 P0,1 → 3 H6 , 1 D2 → 3 H4 , 3 P0 → 3 F2,3 ), and NIR spectral scopes (1 D2 → 3 F4 ,1 G4 , 1 G4 → 3 H5 , 3 F3,4 → 3 H4 )...

Inbred strains have a genetic similarity of at least 98.6% compared to their outbred counterparts. Several studies have shown that inbred C57BL/6 mice and outbred ICR (CD1) mice differ in locomotion, cognitive flexibility, and aggression. However, their performance in operant paradigms is not well understood. A progressive ratio (PR) schedule of reinforcement is a method of quantitative estimation of the incentive state of an animal for a reward by increasing response requirements for reinforcer delivery, which is relevant to assess the breakpoint (amount of response effort an animal is willing to invest for a single unit of reward)...

Peripheral neuropathy is a common manifestation of systemic vasculitis. The etiology of vasculitic peripheral neuropathy is generally classified into two groups: systemic and nonsystemic. In systemic vasculitic neuropathy (SVN), neuropathy is a consequence of a systemic disease, most commonly involving medium and small vessels throughout the body. There are three main clinical presentations: multifocal neuropathy, distal symmetric polyneuropathy, and overlapping multifocal neuropathy. Specifically, distal symmetric polyneuropathy affects multiple somatic nerves diffusely in a symmetric and length-dependent pattern (also known as the classic stocking-glove pattern)...

Praseodymium (Pr3+ ) ion and the transition metal vanadium (V5+ ) ion with d0 electronic configuration can form an intervalence charge transfer (IVCT) band, which can function both as a compensatory channel for its red emission and as a quenching channel, thus affecting the luminescence thermal stability of the phosphors. Research studies reveal that the emission of Pr3+ in the YVO4 matrix can be quenched by the IVCT mechanism, thereby limiting the application of phosphors. As such, the present contribution is based on the solid solution replacement strategy to inhibit the constitutent of the IVCT quenching channel and thus improve thermal stability...

Treating ocular involvement in eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) can be challenging. We present the case of a 37-year-old woman with EGPA who had severe bilateral visual field defects. Laboratory results showed leukocytosis (17,500 WBC/μL, 25.8 % eosinophils), negative MPO-ANCA titer, and elevated PR3-ANCA level (33.2 IU/mL). Diffusion-weighted MRI revealed bilateral hyperintense occipital lesions, which were more prominent on the left. BACKGROUND: Tolosa-Hunt syndrome (THS) is a rare disorder involving the orbital and retro-orbital space. The typical symptoms include sensory loss in the trigeminal nerve's distribution, orbital pain, swelling, headaches, and cranial nerve palsies. Case Presentation . Serological findings demonstrated positive CANCA-PR3. She was initially treated with 1 g pulse methylprednisolone for three days...
