AIM: To evaluate the hemostatic effect of topical hemocoagulase spray in digestive endoscopy. METHODS: Eighty-nine patients who developed oozing bleeding during endoscopic treatment from September 2014 to October 2014 at Center for Digestive Endoscopy, Tianjin Medical University General Hospital were randomly divided into either a study group (n = 39) or a control group (n = 50). The study group was given topical hemocoagulase spray intraoperatively, while the control group was given traditional 8% norepinephrine spray...

Aiming at the shortage of the Raman spectra of drugs and the current situation of drug testing, we have applied Raman spectroscopic technique to several kinds of medicine, such as antibiotics, antihistamine, hemocoagulase and antiemetics. The spectral properties for the samples with high Raman activity are investigated by observing their Raman spectra to yield the shift, intensity, and line width of the Raman peaks, as well as the line shape of Raman envelope. For those samples with weak Raman activity or complex structures that are hard to be identified, we have also made some tentative measurements or raise some suggestions for future measurement...

A 61 year-old male patient, plasma fibrinogen level was 2.98 g/L, endoscopic sinus surgery was performed under general anesthesia for polypoid of uncinate process with mycotic maxillary sinusitis. Hemocoagulase were given in pre- and post-operative for treatment. The patient was found postoperative drain blood continuously since 3 days after surgery, when the dose of hemocoagulase reach 26 KU, and fibrinogen determined in Plasma was 0.48 g/L. Coagulation returned to normal and nasal bleeding stopped after discontinuation of the hemocoagulase and supplement with fibrinogen...

Higher levels of fibrinogen, a critical element in hemostasis, are associated with increased postoperative survival rates, especially for patients with massive operative blood loss. Fibrinogen deficiency after surgical management of intracranial tumors may result in postoperative intracranial bleeding and severely worsen patient outcomes. However, no previous studies have systematically identified factors associated with postoperative fibrinogen deficiency. In this study, we retrospectively analyzed data from patients who underwent surgical removal of intracranial tumors in Beijing Tiantan Hospital date from 1/1/2013to12/31/2013...

Hemocoagulase agkistrodon for injection is the national first-class new drug of China with good hemostatic function and safety for capillary hemorrhage in abdominal incision of surgical patients. Adverse drug reactions (ADRs) to hemocoagulase agkistrodon are rarely reported. In this paper, we describe a case of a 41-year-old woman who developed anaphylactic shock attributed to hemocoagulase agkistrodon before colon cancer surgery. Based on the Naranjo ADR probability score, a "probable" cause and effect relationship existed for this case...

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the effects of topical hemocoagulase on intra-oral extraction sockets and impact on the healing process as well as to produce a clinico-histological healing score. STUDY DESIGN: This prospective study compared two extraction sites in each subject. One site received topical hemocoagulase while other site did not receive it. Both the sites were chosen in the same patient and extraction was done at separate intervals. The biopsy was done on a random basis with the pathologist being blinded to the study...

We report a case of serious anaphylactic shock in a 5-year-old child undergoing scheduled surgery blank space of a right femoral intramedullary nail removal. The boy had undergone right femoral elastic intramedullary nail fixation surgery 14 months prior, but had no history of allergies. Within 5 minutes of intravenous bonus injection of hemocoagulase agkistrodon (HCA) 1 unit, a widespread transient diffuse erythema was seen on the front of his chest. After 20 minutes, sudden, profound cardiovascular collapse occurred...

Currently, there is no analytical method for the quantification of hemocoagulase agkistrodon (HCA) in pharmaceutical preparations. This study presents a pre-column derivatization method for the quantification of HCA, a compound extracted from the venom of Agkistrodon acutus, in a pharmaceutical preparation (trade name Suling). In the proposed method, 6-aminoquinolyl-N-hydroxysuccinimidyl carbamate was used to tag the HCA substrate, and the derivatives were analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection...

This study was aimed to investigate the pro coagulation effects of hemocoagulase atrix and its effective components (batroxobin and factor X activator) on plasma of normal subjects and patients with bleeding disorders and their mechanisms. Activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) and prothrombin time (PT) were measured. The factor (F)X activation and thrombin generation were analyzed by using chromogenic substrate method. The results showed that the plasma APTT of normal subjects was shortened by hemocoagulase atrix, batroxobin and FX activator, and the effect of FX activator was found to be concentration-dependent (r = 0...

Pulmonary hemorrhage (PH) in neonates is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Hemocoagulase is an established hemostatic agent and may be beneficial in neonates with severe PH.This systematic review was performed to investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of hemocoagulase therapy in preterm infants with Pulmonary hemorrhage (PH). The search strategy of the Cochrane Neonatal Review Group was used to determine outcomes following PH in neonates. The primary outcomes were mortality, duration of PH and length of mechanical ventilation...

BACKGROUND: Active hemorrhage arising from hepatic injury can be life-threatening and require immediate attention. At present, nonoperative management of abdominal solid organ injuries has become the usual method of care. The purpose of this study was to determine whether hemocoagulase injection alone guided by contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) could control active bleeding in rabbit liver. METHODS: The livers of 30 rabbits were punctured with an 18-gauge semiautomatic biopsy needle to create an active bleeding liver model, which was confirmed with CEUS...

BACKGROUND: Hemocoagulase Agkistrodon for injection is a single component thrombin which has passed phases I and II clinical trials. The purpose of this phase III clinical trial was to evaluate the effect of Hemocoagulase Agkistrodon on hemostasis and coagulation in abdominal skin and subcutaneous incisions and to assess the safety of this agent in surgical patients. METHODS: This is a phase III, prospective, randomized, double-blind, and controlled multicenter clinical trial including 432 consecutive patients randomized into either a study group (injected with hemocoagulase Agkistrodon at 2 U, n = 324) or a control group (injected with hemocoagulase Atrox, n = 108)...
