Quantum dots (QDs) have been widely used to develop analytical methods due to their unique fluorescent and photoelectrochemical characteristics. However, analytical strategies based on their catalytic property are rarely reported. In this research, a novel Sn(II)-imprinted poly(dimethyl vinylphosphonate) nanopowder (Sn(II)-IPDMVPN) was prepared using Sn2+ , dimethyl vinylphosphonate, azobis isobutyronitril and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as the template, ligand, initiator and cross linker, respectively. Five heavy metals/metalloids and related potential health risks were investigated in three commercially important fish species (Anodontostoma chacunda, Belangerii, and Cynoglossurs arel) in Musa Estuary and Mahshahr Harbour of the Persian Gulf. We employed a fluorogenic Ag+ sensor, tetrazole-functionalized tetraphenylethylene derivative 1 (TEZ-TPE-1), to investigate the dissolution kinetics of AgNPs and AgNWs in aquatic environments. Real-time and quantitative monitoring of Ag+ release was achieved by using the proposed method, which agreed well with the conventional ICP-MS detection method.
