In this study, atmospheric mercury concentration in airborne particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter ≤ 2.5 µm (PM 2.5 ) was analyzed by ICP-MS. Samples were collected in the Mexico City Metropolitan Area (MCMA), during 2013, in five locations, Northwest, Northeast (NE), Central, Southwest and Southeast, along three seasons: dry warm, rainy, and dry cold (DC). Recently, methanotrophic and methylotrophic bacteria were found to utilize rare earth elements (REE). To monitor the REE-content in culture media of these bacteria we have developed a rapid screening method using the Arsenazo III (AS III) dye for spectrophotometric REE-detection in the low μM (0.1-10 μM) range. We designed this assay to follow La III and Eu III depletion from the culture medium by the acidophilic verrucomicrobial methanotroph Methylacidiphilum fumariolicum SolV. DNA methylation is considered to be a promising marker for the early diagnosis and prognosis of cancer. However, direct detection of the methylated DNAs in clinically relevant samples is still challenging because of its extremely low concentration (~fM). A protective effect by silicon in the amelioration of iron chlorosis has recently been proved for Strategy 1 species, at acidic pH. However in calcareous conditions, the Si effect on Fe acquisition and distribution is still unknown. In this work, the effect of Si on Fe, Mn, Cu and Zn distribution was studied in rice (Strategy 2 species) under Fe sufficiency and deficiency. Plants (+Si or-Si) were grown initially with Fe, and then Fe was removed from the nutrient solution. Single-phase cubic (FCC) vanadium nitride (VN) coatings with different preferential orientations and residual stresses were obtained as a function of ICP power. In this study, Molybdenum precursors were synthesized with butanoic acid, hexanoic acid, nonanoic acid, decanoic acid, and undecanoic acid. The H6P2W18O62/MCM-41-SUP was first synthesized using supercritical impregnation as highly efficient catalyst during glycerol conversion reaction. The Li1.20[Mn0.54Ni0.13Co0.13]0.80-xYbxO2 (x = 0, 0.01, 0.02, 0.03) cathode materials have been synthesized by using sol-gel method and characterized by means of XRD, SEM, ICP-OES analysis. The galvanostatic charge-discharge tests results showed the improved electrochemical properties were obtained through the Yb3+ doping modification.
