We present explicit form of Adiabatic to Diabatic Transformation (ADT) equations and expressions of non-adiabatic coupling terms (NACTs) for a coupled five-state electronic manifold in terms of ADT angles between electronic wavefunctions. Nocardioides sp. strain PD653 was the first aerobic bacterium capable of mineralizing hexachlorobenzene (HCB) that was identified. In this study, strain PD653-B2, which was unexpectedly isolated from a subculture of strain PD653, was found to lack the ability to transform HCB or pentachloronitrobenzene into pentachlorophenol. Comparative genome analysis of the two strains revealed that genetic rearrangement had occurred in strain PD653-B2, with a genomic region present in strain PD653 being deleted. This paper explores the adsorbate distributions in the adlayer for a model A-B2 system of heterogeneous catalysis, i.e., A + 1/2 B2 → AB, via kinetic Monte Carlo (KMC) simulations. In comparison with our previous work on the A-B model (Chemical Engineering Science 153, 87-92, 2016), species B2 here brings about significant new features due to its special site requirement during adsorption and desorption, and a different stoichiometric ratio in reactions. To clarify the mode of action of aged garlic extract (AGE) to retard atherosclerosis, we investigated whether AGE suppresses the inflammation in apolipoprotein E-knockout (ApoE-KO) mice.
