Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is associated with autonomic imbalance which may be related to baroreflex dysfunction. Thus, we tested the hypothesis that central and peripheral hemodynamic responses to baroreflex activation via lower-body negative pressure (LBNP; -10, -20, -30, -40 mmHg) would be diminished in patients with HFpEF ( n = 10, 71±7 yrs) compared to older, healthy controls (CON, n = 10, 70±5 yrs).
