Helicobacter pylori (H pylori) infection was common worldwide and previous researches on the correlation between H pylori infection and metabolic abnormality provided inconsistent conclusions. We assessed acute H pylori infection prevalence and the relationship with metabolic abnormality in general Chinese population. Participants attending for the physical examination underwent a carbon-13 urea breath test.
