Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) have been employed as nano-sized carriers for therapeutic/bio-active molecules, including small interfering RNAs (siRNAs). However, the potential of LDHs nanoparticles for an efficient and safe antisense oligonucleotide (AMO) delivery still requires studies.
